BEWARE THE CHOICES
BEWARE THE CHOICES

I had just begun my career in finance working for the Missile Defense Agency when my husband received orders to Germany. The Air Force was transferring us from California to Germany. I knew instantly that I would be staying home. Our youngest is 18 months, and the idea of putting him in another day care was too much for me. Little did I know that not participating in the world around me, providing what I could to the betterment of society, would eventually be too much for me as well. The dilemma...how to make money without leaving home. I love raising my son, I love being home, but I hate not doing work. Thus began my search for online employment.

Very few companies will allow telecommuting from Germany. I turned to home business and began looking at the so-called turnkey systems. My advice to those of you doing these same searches -- do a second search of the company name and 99% of the time you'll find someone who has debunked the company's claims or someone who was bamboozled by the opportunities promised by the company. Nothing is simple and nothing is easy. If it's worth doing, it'll probably be hard. That's the point. I did find some success in Avon, but since I am not myself a fan of beauty products or taking longer than 10 minutes to get ready in the morning, I soon lost interest. Now I am attempting some freelance and thanks to moneymakingmommy.com, I have found wonderful opportunities with credibility.

So keep your chin up, continue the search, and find what's right for you. I could write all day about this stuff and will probably add to this article as my experience increases. The best thing to do when searching for work is to stay positive, smile when you want to cry, and know that the greatest opportunity will land at your doorstep when you least expect it -- let's hope you aren't in your jammies!
