Your eyes jolt open

Did I do that?

Did it happen?

Look to your left then your right

Consumed again by the night

Should have gone with fight or flight

Stead you put up no such fight

He pulled you close with all his might

Then you melted

You wanted him

He wanted you

The room began to spin

There was nothing left to do

Clothes went flying through the air

Hand wrapped in each other's hair

Lip pressed together moving fast

But you knew it wouldn't last.

First he held you in his arms

And at first you felt no harm

Pseudo comfort lying there

As his soft hand stroked your hair

Then you slowly fell asleep

Listening to his heart beat

But as the sun begin to rise

And light shines into your eyes

You no longer sleep as one

The separation has begun

The attraction that was there

And the passion in his stare

Is gone

Together but alone

It's gone

Get up, get dressed, go home

And then wait by the phone

For what?

Your eyes jolt open

And you realize that this time

Felt no better than the last time

And though it's no crime

To be wanted

The desire not to be flaunted

Attention sought and gotten

But now you lay forgotten
