Attention: 5 groundbreaking questions to be answered concerning the female thong.
69Yes, there are many, many more pressing issues that could be discussed in this article - too many to mention. But the bottom line is that I am testosterone driven male who has always struggled with a couple of things in regards to the female thong. I will give my unscientific answers to 5 pressing questions concerning this topic. Myself, not being a female, may not have all of the proper answers - and revisions to these answers may come in follow up editions.
Examining The Definitions
I will use the assumption that a thong is a form of underwear.
Underwear: Clothing or an article of clothing worn next to the skin and under clothing.
Now lets examine another term:
Pantie: A women's or child's undergarment covering the lower trunk & made with a closed crotch - usually used in plural (panties)
And one final one,
Undergarment: A garment worm under other outer garments.
From using these definitions we can safely say that a thong is an undergarment and a form of underwear, but when we look at the pantie definition of "covering the lower trunk" - I would say that the thong is pressing the boundaries of being considered a pantie.

Question # 1
Why do women wear them?
From my research the most common answer is "eliminates pantie lines". Fair enough - and a very good answer. But there must me more to it than this.
There are plenty of jean wearing females in this country that sport the thong....
Are they worn to please a partner, for sexual reasons, fashion, pressure from society.....I can't believe that comfort is the reason? But maybe it is - more research is needed concerning the comfort level of the female thong.
So in answering this first question the only concrete conclustion that I have been able to construct concerning the reason women wear the thong, is from the fashion sense of eliminating the "pantie line".
Question #2
How in the heck is a thong comfortable?
Basically, you are dealing with a thin patch of material riding up between your buttocks? So from a pure comfort standpoint I can't see how a thong can be more comfortable than a "conventional", pair of underwear......
So again there must be other factors, factors outside of the "pantie line" debate that is allowing the thong industry to thrive like never before...

Question #3
Answereing the question of the "accidental" showing of the thong...
We've all been there: Walking down a store isle, and squatting down looking for something on the bottom row is a women. And low and behold her pants seem to be riding a bit low in this position - making the view of her undergarments as clear as day.... Are you telling me this is an accident? Come on....
Try this little experiment - Stand up right now....Go ahead stand up from your computer, I'm not going anywhere.
Ok - now bend over or squat down as if you were picking something up, or looking for something near the floor. I don't know about you, but even in my office all alone I have the body awareness to realize if my underwear, "butt crack"- to put it bluntly, or a combination of the two are exposed to onlookers when I am in this position.
Am I the only person who has this keen sense of the ass showing, or is there more to this phenomenon of females exposing their thongs, and seemingly being unaware of the potential excitement that it is creating in the male population?
This is a perplexing issue the definitely requires some more investigation and research.
Question #4
Maybe it is just simply a question of "feeling sexy"?
Maybe it is just that simple - women feel more sexy wearing a thong, than when they wear what could be termed "Grannie panties".
I hope that it is....and that is fine by me.

Question #5
What have I learned from all of my analysis concerning the female thong?
1. Dammit, I love the female thong.
2. I have no idea why some women show me their thong while I'm in the supermarket.
3. There must be more to the thong than just the functional use of "hiding the pantie line".
Long live the thong....

I'm a thong-wearer and a nit-picker; the usual spelling of a female undergarment is "panty"...never seen it as "pantie" before; "panties" is the plural form.
And yes - I like to avoid VPL (visible panty lines), but I don't go out of my way to expose my underthings to the general public! tee hee!
This is brilliant!
When I saw the Einstein picture in your profile, I thought of reading some science. Well, it ended up in a hub about panties. Very informative hub, very rare research. when u get time have a look at my hubs too.
