Before you can effectively make money you'll want to be able to effectively attract money into your life. Many of us either feel attracted to money, repulsed by money, a lack of money, or an abundance of money. No matter which way you feel, you'll still feel the same whether you have $1 or $1,000,000 in the bank account.

Individuals who feel ashamed about having money deep inside even though they are attracted to it on the surface still find themselves inadvertently losing their money even when they make a significant amount.

The belief that you have inside greatly influence whether you are able to attract money into life or not. This hub will explore two ways of examining and changing your beliefs for the better.

The "Towards or Away from" technique

This technique simply asks that you answer the basic question of whether you want to make money because you feel attracted to it or whether you want to make money because you want to move away from something and you need the money to do that.

This is a Timeline Therapy technique that often reveals how people tend to only want money to move away from their existing circumstances, rather than to move towards their future goals.

On close examination someone who is in lower class society may want to attract money to move into upper-class society and out of poverty. The poverty is their "away from" stimulant for making money.

Sometimes 'away from' beliefs can move us towards making money. However, what happens once you've moved away from the negative motivator far enough? Someone who only wants to make money because he is poor will no longer want to make money once he is rich because the motivator is no longer there, isn't this true?

Exploring feelings and motivations

The second personal exploration technique involves getting to the core of what you want to attract and creating positive 'towards' motivators to help you get there.

Hold a $100 bill (or the highest value you can find) in front of you and ask yourself "how do I feel about having this?" write-down as many thoughts and feelings that come to you. If you find some negative or 'away from' thinking keep this in mind as it may be the very thing that is stopping you from attracting money into your life right now.

If you'd like to go one step further, you may like to investigate how your parents and friends feel about money. Remember, these are the people that influence your own beliefs on a subconscious level more than anyone else.
