Are You Duplicatable? Mike Dillards Tip
Duplication is extremely important in network marketing. Of course, you know what needs to be done to make your business grow, but are the people you've sponsored doing the same? I know from my experience that many people will not do what you do. They are either unable or unwilling. For myself, I have become unwilling to do network marketing in the "old school" method. It's just too uncomfortable for me. You know, "three way calling" friends, family and co-workers. Then when that list dries up, you either have to start approaching strangers everywhere you go or you have to purchase leads from a leads source. Neither of these options worked for me. I tried them both and stepped way out of my comfort zone.
So, are you duplicatable? What methods of business growth are you using? There is certainly nothing wrong with the old school method. It's just that it is not duplicatable for everyone. Not everyone, like myself, is comfortable doing it that way. How about your organization? Are people duplicating you or is it a struggle to keep them going let alone growing?
Here's what Mike Dillard has to say about this.
"People are not duplicatable, systems are... BUT (and that's a big one) there's much more to it...
A few years ago, I put together an EXTREMELY duplicatable system.
Distributors bought into a radio lead generation co-op which had extremely hot prospects calling them.
We plugged them into a 7 minute overview call to qualify them, and then sent further information via email.
On average, 3 out of 10 prospects were signing up on the very first phone call.
It doesn't get any easier than that.
It was a TRUE plug-and-play system.
Everything was already done for the distributor. All they needed to do was join the co-op and call their prospects using the basic outline we provided.
But despite the simplicity and effectiveness of this system, there were always people who just couldn't get results no matter what they did.
So here's my point...
You can have the most duplicatable system in the world, but it doesn't matter, because there's an "unknown X" in the equation which is the "human factor".
As long as there's a person involved in the process, the outcome is unknown and will vary by individual.
So what do you do as a leader who has come into a place of confidence and results?
Simple... The only thing you can do.
Lead by example.
You cannot force people to duplicate you. Some will and some won't.
You cannot cater to their weakness. It will only encourage them to stay where they're at, and then drain your personal energy dry.
What you CAN DO by simply being you and building your business, is attract other individuals like yourself to you.
This is what I teach in Magnetic Sponsoring.
When you do that, duplication is never a problem, nor is sponsoring in general.
The biggest mistake I made, and continue to see others make once they start to build an organization, is that as the upline, they get emotionally involved and attached to the results of their downline members.
They feel responsible for their success.
Get past that.
It's not your responsibility.
Make it very clear to your new people as to what they can expect from you as their sponsor.
Do not leave your door wide open or make yourself available 24/7. You are not a charity.
It's not your job to hold their hand and push them across the finish line, yet for some reason, that's become some kind of "expectation" in this industry.
"If I join you, you owe me this..."
B.S.
Just look at corporate America. You get a week or so of orientation and training and then you're expected to go to work and get the job done.
You can't sit there and complain that it's your bosses' fault when you don't meet the expectations set upon you.
You just get fired and replaced.
Remember, you're a business builder. You are a marketer, and whether or not you want to admit it, you are a sales person.
You want to spend 90% of your time marketing, prospecting, and building your business. Your downline will see this and understand it as the "norm", which means they will do the same.
Deciding to do anything else will result in a downline of hand-holding, shoulder-crying, sympathetic excuse makers. (Yippie!)
Setting this example is the best thing you could ever do for them.
So am I saying not to train and support your people?
Of course not.
But that should only consist of 10-20% of your daily activity. It should not become your primary focus which is what tends to happen.
So duplication is great in theory, but can become chaotic when you throw people into the equation.
Pick a system.
Use it.
Teach it.
Most people will not duplicate no matter how easy you make it for them, but the "right" people will"
Mike Dillard tells it like it is. Duplication can only be done using a duplicatable system and having the "right" people who are willing to follow the system. If you can get this combination, you too will see huge duplicatable success in your business.
