Network marketing is one of the best ways to create a long and successful business. A network marketer builds a network of people with common interests and markets his product to them. He communicates with them constantly and builds a small community of people. Before the Internet, network marketers sold there products though traditional means by selling door to door. A salesman would build a network of people who he would sell to from time to time. He would take them out for golf or lunches and constantly keep in touch with them. Once he built a relationship with them, then he could sell them more products. People always feel comfortable buying things from people they know.

If you want to attract business leaders to your network marketing business and sell products to them successfully, you need to prepare for success even before it comes to you. This is the only way to retain customers. In order to do that, you have to visualize the experience that you want your customers to have.

To understand this better, let’s look at an example. If you are selling DVD’s to people teaching them how to create a website, you first need to have a good website of your own. Then, you should offer some free tips or previews to potential customers when they come to your site which will in turn encourage them to sign up online for your mailing list so that you can communicate with them. Make a list of all the things that you’re offering them. This includes any after sales services and other free products. There must be some perceived value that you’re giving potential customers. Then, they will not feel like they are being sold before they purchase your product.

Once you have got leaders to join your network, keep in touch with them. If you find it difficult to keep in touch by phone, send an occasional email with some free tips or good information. In the same vein, you can’t take them out golfing, but you can offer them discounts for upcoming products. Keep in touch with your network and let them see the value that you give them. At the same time, you should remember not to be too persistent. No one likes a pushy salesman. Some network marketers email their network daily. There is only so much valuable information that you can give to people and at some point, the emails you send them will have more quantity than quality. If you do this, your network will flag you as spam faster than you think and your hard work will go down the drain.

If you want to attract a leader, you have to act like one. This means that you give people good, valuable information that there searching for that's relevant to their business on a consistent basis without coming across as being to selsley . If you do this, your network will appreciate you more, and will be more willing to join you in business

At the end of the day, you should remember that everything you do should be done for a reason. Don’t give out free things just for the sake of giving it out. Make sure that there is value attached to whatever you give your network. Your time is worth money too and when you give something away for free, it's because you are getting something in return. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
