Auburn Football Schedule
Every year in the SEC football is played by some of the best teams in the country, generally ending in a national champion. The reason for their success is due in part to their athleticism, however a larger contributor comes from the fact that the boys of the SEC have been playing football since they could just walk. For one team in particular, the Auburn Tigers, the tradition is rich and only gets richer as they win more and more ball games year in and year out. This year the auburn football schedule is packed with teams from the SEC and abroad. It will be an interesting season this year for the Tigers as they have not fared well in recent years against their other, stronger in conference opponents. Though one should never count out a team as hard willed and strong as the Tigers. The auburn football schedule is as follows:
September 5th vs. Louisiana Tech
September 12th vs. Mississippi State
September 19th vs.West Virginia
September 26th vs. Ball State
October 3rd at Tennessee
October 10th at Arkansas
October 17th vs. Kentucky
October 24th at LSU
October 31st vs. Ole Miss
November 7th vs. Furman
November 14th at Georgia
November 27th vs. Alabama
When looking at this schedule one thing comes to mind, on the road toughness. I would say that the Tigers look as if they will win their first four at home, however once they hit the road to take on Tennessee under new coach Lane Kiffin, and then Arkansas that can be a tough one to swallow. I would say that they will also loose to Georgia and LSU, and Alabama will be a tough one as an in state rival. So as a rough guestimation I would say the Tigers are prime for a 8-6 record, which isnt horrible and will get them into a bowl game. However if the Tigers can come out and take advantage of teams like Georgia and Alabama who have lost notable starters, they can definitely fare a bit better. Only team will tell, this will be an interesting 2009 season for the Auburn Tigers.
