Auctiva Sending Out Lifeboat To Frustrated eBay Sellers
73Auctiva.com, long time provider of third party services to eBay sellers, has announced that they will be offering Auctiva Commerce Storefronts, stand-alone ecommerce stores beginning January 20, 2009.
Auctiva.com has provided free third party auction listing services to eBay sellers since 1998. While the name may not be all that familiar to buyers, many sellers use the free services that Auctiva provides daily. Scrolling galleries, hundreds of free templates, free super-sized images, free eBay store portals, free scheduled listing times and reduced shipping insurance rates have generated a legion of loyal Auctiva fans.
Coupled with a highly responsive customer service reputation (you can often post a question in the Auctiva forums and have it answered within minutes by the CEO personally), many eBay sellers are excited that Auctiva has responded to the general dissatisfaction of it's customers by providing an ecommerce solution that promises to be user friendly and highly publicized.
As ebay continues to roll out "improvements", the original flavor and personality of the site are becoming a distant memory for many users. While bargains continue to be available, they are not as evident as in earlier days and the one-of-a-kind offerings that proliferated in days gone by seem to be slowly disappearing.
Many improvements seem to be ill-thought and implemented by people who have no basic understanding of the business at hand or even of each new rule or restriction they impose.
These changes have left formerly loyal and happy sellers extremely disgruntled and unhappy.
Enter Auctiva.
In response to the current climate and the incessant requests of their current customers, Auctiva has decided to launch a platform to provide sellers with an easy to use ecommerce solution.
Currently in beta testing, Auctiva promises to roll ot the new storefronts beginning January 20, 2009.
Estimated to be anywhere from fifty billion to over one trillion unique web pages, the World Wide Web is a vast and scary world. While many sellers are more than happy to jump off the SS eBay, there is an ocean of web pages and sites out there than can easily envelop even large sellers.
Auctiva hopes to provide at least some of those sellers with a venue and the tools to quickly and easily build stores that will not sink into obscurity.
Promising to be full-featured and backed by a team that has already proven their ability to provide complex services in an ever-changing environment, Auctiva Commerce Storefronts seem to be poised in the right place at the right time. With more eBay changes due to be rolled out for the new year, sellers that have previously just grumbled about leaving are not actively looking for new venues to bring their wares.
Auctiva Commerce Storefronts will not be taking on the Internet giant head-on. The initial roll-out will not include auction-style listings or even one centralised shopping portal. Instead, they will initially provide the software, support and marketing for individual sellers to utilise.
Offering free stores through March, 2009, Auctiva hopes to woo a large number of sellers into taking a test drive of their new system.
As more and more sellers continue to bail out of what they consider to be a sinking ship, the face of eBay will continue to change, and in most estimates, not for the better. Sellers that can no longer compete will continue to take their their IT; elsewhere. Buyers will be left with fewer choices of both items and sellers.
For sellers looking for a way to take the plunge into their own websites, Auctiva may be the answer. For more info and to be placed on their mailing list of announcements, CLICK HERE.

As eBay continues to do their best to drive off sellers, I think lots of people will wind up in different places.
Not everybody will be happy with the same platform & will not wind up in the same place.
Bonanzle is one of the places on my list to check out also.
I think if eBay has taught any of us anything, it should be that we can't keep all of our eggs in one basket.
I for one have been slowly testing different sites for different items and it may wind up that the best replacement for eBay will be a couple of sites that work well for different things.
Definitely have learned that one can Not put all their eggs in one basket. I know that many of us are trying alternatives to eBay. We will find what works for each of us individually. It just takes trial and error, patience and time.
I do agree that auctivacommerce would make a nice complement. I, myself, am very excited about BOTH AuctivaCommerce and Bonanzle.
Best of luck for 2009 and wishing much success and many sales for all of us!
Best of Luck to you too, momborch!
We will all find our own place that works best for us.
For some people, it may even still be eBay, I just know that it is not for me anymore.
The transition from paragraph 3 to paragraph 4 is kind of ambiguous, making it sound like you're talking about Auctiva rather than eBay. You might consider being more specific.
Point taken, Jethro. Have revised the wording
Time to change, All the best
Speaking of eBay and Auctiva, I was on eBay for nearly two months before I came across Auctiva. I purchased a domain name through AuctivaCommerce, changed my page so that none of my listings would reffer back to eBay, and not even 48 hours later my eBay Account was suspended. eBay is nothing more than a legend of the past.
