Audra McDonald Singer and Actress

Audra McDonald was born in 1970 in Germany and grew up in Fresno, California. She studied voice at Julliard and is a premier classical concert singer, opera, jazz and ballad singer. Her voice is clear as a bell and her interpretations are as expressive and intelligent as any vocalist I've heard. She can match the cabaret singers of the Algonquin's Oak Room mano a mano. She also is quite a versatile actress and can be seen currently as Dr. Naomi Bennett in the TV series,"Private Practice." She belongs to the select group of actors who have won four Tony awards.

You must hear "Bein' Green" from the "Build a Bridge" CD. It's time to build some bridges again!

Now this is an Audra I can really appreciate...Beautiful soprano voice, bright, intelligent, and engaging personality...

My favorite mezzo-soprano is Marilyn Horne. Her " Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix " from Saint-Saens' Sampson et Delila is incredibly emotional and vibrant...

Thank you for this musical treat...the links were very entertaining and convinced me to seek an album by her...Thanks, Larry

Stunning singer, Ralph. Thanks for sharing. I had not heard of her before - so this is a very pleasant revelation!

Love and peace
