What is an Aura? It is the light around you. It is the Halo that you see Angels and Gods marked in pictures with. Everything has an Aura. Human being or animal, tree or flower, house or stone, all of them have their own Auras. And each and every single Aura is different. Just as no two people have the same fingerprints or voice the Aura of every person differs from the person next to him. Even twins have different Auras.

The first time I really paid attention to the fact that I had an Aura was when I was initiated into Reiki. My teacher showed us photograhs that had captured Auras of people who were healthy and others who were ill. It was surprising to see that the Auras of the healthy people were vibrant and colourful, while those of people not in good health were slim and in cases almost missing in the photos.

The colour of your Aura is never static. The Chakra that is most dominant will influence your Aura's colour. There are seven primary Chakras in your body. The colours of the Seven prime Chakras of the body follow the colours of the Rainbow. VIBGYOR is the colour scheme from top to bottom. It is beacuse of this that the corresponding crystals of these colours become so important in the healing process of the body. If a particular Chakra is unbalanced by providing it with energy magnified by a crystal of its natural colour the healing is said to occur even faster.

Learning to read the Aura is an acquired skill. Not everyone has access to the specialised cameras that are needed to take Aura Photographs. So it makes sense to develop the skill of Aura reading to make it easier for you to see the problem areas in a body when you are trying to heal it. The more you practice the better you get at it.

An Aura is a very useful tool to a spiritual healer. It will allow you to see what the true problem is. An Aura never lies and will show instant changes when the body is worked on with balancing energy. The pure Aura is white in colour as all seven shades are well balanced. This sort of an Aura is rare to find given the diseases all around us, yet it is what we should strive for.
