Having a easy automated version control is extremely useful for protecting your data. For those that don't know version control allows you to have multiple versions of your data. The different version may be changes you made to that graphic since yesterday or book your writing, and/or software. It really saves you say when you open it today to work on your file and make a big change which ends up as a big mistake. Well you already have saved the file so that version is gone. Under most circumstances your in trouble because you have to redo that part of the project, however with version control would save you. All you have to do is go back to the previous version of that file. It also serves as a good way to see your previous work on the project leading up to the finish project.

There are several software out there that do version control but none as easy as FileHamster. FileHamster is free and offers a real-time backup and a simple setup.
