Automobile jacks are the first tool which is used to lift a car when a tire is flat and has to be changed. They vary in size depending on the model and weight of a car that they are used to lift. An auto jack is made of various types of metals but the screw (the mechanism that is used to operate automobile jacks) itself is made of lead in most cases.

Once the screw has been wound to the top position, it has a self-lock mechanism that ensures that the vehicle does not fall down when the car owner releases tension. The screw should be durable enough so that it doesn’t wear quickly when used on a continuous basis. If it had included ball nuts in its construction, it would have been impossible to self-lock an automobile jack.

A metal bar which is inserted in its place on a jack helps to bring an automobile jacks up and down fast and easily. A car owner only has to press on the bar which turns the screw that leads to an upward thrust. The bar has to be turned until the vehicle has been raised to the level that is needed. To lower the jack, just move it in the opposite direction.

Racing Jacks

The racing jack is made of aluminum and is a high quality, light weight, high performance tool. This type of floor jacks has decent specifications and comes in quite a wide price range.

Many customers may mess a racing jack with other types of aluminum jacks but they are have their own unique characteristics, which make them stand out. The first difference is that a racing jack is made of a very strong aircraft metal. It has the capability to immediately lift a car from the ground with the help of three pumps. With six pumps you can raise a car on the height of 17.5 inches.

This tool is strong and durable enough. It has an aluminum handle which helps to get maximum out of its high performance functionality. Its other unique features include: portability due to light weight, low pad height, low single profile from a roller, stability due to a wider stand, easy lifting a car on the air with as little as three pumps, the availability of caster swivels which promotes mobility and makes sure that the jack cannot be easily contaminated because it has a seal.
