Autumn in Oregon

Is it just me, or is Autumn GOING FOR IT this season? I mean, I've always loved Oregon's fall colors (and I hear it's even more spectacular in New Hampshire), but this year I can't help but notice something special: The reds and oranges are neon looking, the yellow and orange trees appear to be golden... like something from a fantasy movie. Even the different shades of brown are rich and beautiful.
Does it have something to do with climate change, am I just getting older and finally starting to appreciate what's always been there, or is it yet another residual affect from my recent injuries? (Ladies, you know I'll be milking this for all it's worth - I'm fully expecting lots of Sympathy Chocolate come Christmas... ;-)
Geez, if I get any sappier, I'm kickin' my OWN ass!!
Anyway, it's incredible and I can't stop marveling at it - I stop and pick up leaves and just stare at them, like I'm daft or something! - so I'm sharing Oregon's Autumn with you. The following pictures do not do seeing it person proper justice, but they ain't bad.
I hope you enjoy them...

"Was there ever such an autumn? And yet there was never such a panic and hard times in the commercial world. The merchants and banks are suspending and failing all the country over, but not the sandbanks, solid and warm, and streaked with bloody blackberry vines.
You may run upon them as much as you please--even as the crickets do, and find their account in it. They are the stockholders in these banks, and I hear them creaking their content."
- Henry David Thoreau, "Journal", October 14, 1857

Thanks for looking, William. Does it rival New Hampshire?
They are gorgeous and Oklahoma also has beautiful Falls, I love the reds and blue tones along with the oranges, well I guess I love them all! =))
Thanks Marisue, me too! But recently the browns have been really dazzling me.
I think most states - except for parts of CA and NY - have beautiful Falls, eh? Even Arizona!
Absolutely Magnificent! I almost asked if you have some extra room... although it's quite beautiful here in Michigan as well... Thanks for sharing :o).
Ha-ha! thank you, Rainbow. You are welcome to come visit any time. And I believe you.
Awesome photos--especially the ones around the water! Some parts of Arizona have trees that change with the seasons, but the trees don't really "go for it" in the Phoenix metro area. We do get to enjoy some beautiful weather, though. :)
Thanks for stopping by, Melissa. I know, aren't those water images incredible?! I got to visit Arizona for a couple weeks several years ago, and I really liked it.
What a gorgeous display of autumn pictures. I couldn't resist stopping by and looking. I can't seem to get enough of it here in MA so had to come to Oregon to see more. Thanks you.
Dottie, excuse my ignorance, but is MA Massachusetts? Geography; not my strongest subject. I agree with you, though... some of these pictures are just incredible, aren't they?
Thank you for stopping by. Glad you liked.
Constant,
These photos are wonderful! I say if you do decide to kick your own ass I would pay good money for front row seats. That sounds like a spectacle to witness. Too funny! C.S.
Ha-ha, CS- I know, it would take quite a bit of coordination, eh? I think I could pull it off...
Very nice and enjoyed the pictures! As a child growing up in Southern California, I had never seen the seasons change. I grew up thinking the pictures of autumn leaves were some kind of camera trick.
Fast-forward to being a 21 year old adult and moving the the east coast -- I couldn't believe my eyes! Still my favorite time of the year.
Jerilee- Thanks for checking out the hub. I grew up in SoCal, too. I've been in Oregon for many years, now, and am still amazed by all the nature around me.
Hi Constant....MA is Massachusetts. We have a Springfield here too; I see that's where you are from. I have been to Oregon with my cousins from CA and did some camping all the way up the coast from San Diego to Northern Oregon. I loved your part of the country! It was Wilderness Paradise. Take care ~Dottie~
P.S. I just noticed the video below "Autumn Leaves" by Nat King Cole. Beautiful, thanks!
Beautiful pictures of the fall time trees. We have retained the 16th century English word of referring to the autumn as fall, whereas the rest of the English speaking world refers to it as autumn. It is interesting to ponder little things like this during this season.
WOW!! Oregon is amazingly beautiful! I grew up in the south, and we have a pretty mean autumn ourselves, but it's hard to compete with images like those. How are the sunsets up there?
Dottie- I've got to agree with you, and I think the Oregon Coast should be the Eight Wonder of the World. I just added the Nat King Cole video this morning. Kinda classes things up, eh?
I've noticed that, too, Sweetie- Here, you'll be happy to know, you would hear "Fall" a lot more than "Autumn." But I still prefer "Autumn"... there's something almost regal sounding about it.
Yes? No?
Thanks Jonno- I can tell you, it's better in person... and with shades on. Seriously! The sunsets are beautiful here, but not as spectacular as SoCal's... the smog does that! My cousin and I, while driving down from the mountain town of Lowell, saw a sunset that turned the ENTIRE SKY deep red. We were both speechless... then immediately started singing, "Red Skies at Night..."

Very colorful, Constant Walker. Nice pictures. I've never been in Oregon, but you have to go a long way to beat fall in New England.
