There's been a lot of buzz about James Cameron's new movie "Avatar". Many people are probably wondering why? Here's why: James Cameron was the director of Titanic, which is well known as the highest grossing movie EVER. He also known for his work in the Terminator series and the 1987 movie "Aliens".

The movie is set to be released in theaters(in 3D!) on December 18th. Although some lucky fans scored a chance to get a sneak preview of the first 16 minutes of the film by getting free tickets online!

Story: The story of avatar centers around a paraplegic former marine named Jake who goes to a plant called Pandora, which is inhabited by an alien race known as the Na'vi. Jake becomes an "Avatar", which is a human mind in an alien body. Earth is at odds with the native humanoid race of Pandora and Jake is caught in the middle.The Na'vi are Huge blue-skinned humanoid aliens that seem to have evolved in a more tribal manner than Humans, and it seems as if Jake is part of a bigger plan for the planet of Pandora than he actually knows.

The movie, more than ten years in the making has had a huge amount of hype, and many people are wondering if it can live up to it. Cameron has been heard saying numerous times how they have basically re-invented 3D technology from scratch for this movie.

From what i have personally seen so far, including the first 16 minutes of the movie.. it just looks amazing! There are moments when i really feel as if i am present in the scene. The sound, the intensity of the visuals... it really makes you feel as if you are there. I could almost hear the water dripping from the leaves in the rain-forest like environment of Pandora.  Of course, i have always been a fan of Cameron's work so my opinion is not entirely biased.So i urge you to take a look for yourself, you wont be disappointed!

Sigourney Weaver teams up with Cameron again after their amazing work together in the 1986 "Aliens" as a doctor helping Jake undergo the process of becoming an avatar and his journey on the planet of Pandora.

The recently released teaser trailer for the movie has some pretty spectacular visuals, and i can only imagine how much greater it will look on the big screen, in 3D at that!

There is also a scaled down, replica of the mech suit from the trailer. (Aka AMP Suit Maquette)There are a few different companies marketing this product, all at around $1,200 bucks! The price seems pretty steep, however its no small prize. The scaled model actually weighs 12 lbs. and stands 21" high.
