SR-71 Blackbird
Notes from the editors at AVO
The opening scene in this video is of a US air force military jet. The camera shows the underside of the plan, from the back side to the front. The next scene shows the same aircraft taxiing on a runway and taking off. (music plays throughout the video) As the aircraft is shown flying off into the distance, a man in a blue shirt is stand & watching the plane. Next the plan is viewed flying, and a second plane, larger than the jet and silver in color, (also military) is seen refueling the jet. The pilot of the Air Force jet is shown in the jet. Then we see different views of the jet flying. The next scene is of the military jet landing on a runway. The parachute opens in the rear of the plan, the plane lands, the parachute detaches, and the jet slowly rolls to a stop. Then a car is seen driving off in front of the jet.
US Air Force personnel are preparing for a flight; one or two people in flight suits are walking down a tarmac. The camera pans around a gun metal black jet, taking in the jet at different angles as it sits on the ground and has "US AIR FORCE" on both sides. There is a group of individuals watching it take off. After the jet takes off, background music begins to plays with a female vocalist; she doesn't sing actual words, but simply vocalizes the notes with a projected, sustained, "ah". In the air, we see multiple views of the jet in flight, some from above, looking down; others from the side. We see a pilot eject from the (or rather, a plane, as it's not clear if this pilot is in the same jet as has been showcased, or if all the shots are of the same jet throughout the video) After the pilot ejects, we see more shots of the gun metal black jet at various angles and positions. The jet flies around a bit and eventually comes in for a landing at an airstrip.
What struck me the most was the choice of background music. It was haunting, reflective and seemed completely appropriate as you view jets taking off with the US identification on the side of the aircraft. At first you wonder where the jet is headed and for what reason, you see men watching the takeoff, and you realize this is a planned air mission but you don't know the exact circumstances so one begins to speculate... It is quite apparent it is of military and realize that a bomb is in tow and watch as it is dropped. In today's day and age, we ponder on how our world is working and the men and women that are responsible for carrying out such tasks and orders--what are they're thoughts, beliefs and values? What is the pilot in the video thinking as he is in the cockpit of this aircraft?

News channel covers new invention that allows you to fly to work? It shows us something that is a mix of a helicoptor and a motorcycle. Larry Neil has invented and patented a new vehicle. It is a motorcycle with propellers that allow it to fly. You can turn off the engine while in flight and it will come down slower than a parachute. You can fold the propellers and allow it to be a regular motorcycle. Larrys company, Butterfly LLC. will release the SkyCycle soon for around 25 thousand dollars.
