Important Information:

Why Avocados?

Many of the nutrients your dog needs for a healthy skin and coat can be found in the remarkable fruit known as the avocado. Nutrient rich avocados contain vitamins A, E and C in abundance. They're also an excellent source of balanced nutritional essentials for your dog's skin and coat health-and good health in general. Avocados are high in folate, potassium, niacin, essential fatty acids, and many other nutrients. They have no cholesterol, very little sodium, and are high in monosaturated fats. Ounce for ounce, the avocado is simply one of the most nutritious fruits there is. We created AvoDerm Natural formulas with California avocados so your dog could have a healthy skin and coat on the outside-and to keep them healthy on the inside. Our AvoDerm Natural formulas put your dog on the right nutritional track, and keep them there. Since 1947, we've invested our best resources developing the finest in wholesome and natural pet foods. I feature this dog food and many more all natural, wholesome on my new website: http://www.dogfeast.com

I started the website, way before the dog food recall, because my dog was having a lot of troubles and went paralyzed for a couple days. It really scared me. So I looked online for information and came across some really informative and scary information. Information that is finally coming out to the main stream, unfortunately at the risk of or dog's health.

I use Canidae, but I have found several other brands of dog food that are rich and wholesome and good for your dog.

Good luck

I have reviews stating Avoderm was not a good choice . Even though a meat is a

main ingredient it is the only meat in the main ingredients. It also said

Avacado is toxic to dogs. I have also read several good reviews saying this is one

of the better foos. I would like to hear from anyone with a different opion or

more information.

thanks

Godewey,

I don't care for the chicken fat in this product but the rest of the makeup looks good to me.

After doing some research, I found sites saying avocados are toxic to dogs. This is partially true. The leaves, bark, skin and pit are toxic to dogs and several animals. The fruit is toxic to birds. However the fruit and oil are nutritious and healthy for dogs. There is not a lot of information out there regarding avocados and dogs so some people feel they don't like to take the chance. With that being said there still are some dog nutritionist who won't give the ok for avocados. I have checked several forums and there seems to be a lot of confusion on this subject. So I thought I would pass this info on to anyone who like me was wondering about this product. I have yet to try it for my dogs. I recently switched to Canidae, but will try this product in the future.

Any information on switching foods to prevent allergies? thanks,

Godewey

Godewey,

Avoid corn, wheat, and soy. Mother nature will take care of the rest. Do you have troubles going from tacos to hamburgers? If a pet food is a healthy choice for your dog or cat they will do just fine and will enjoy the change in diet. Do some research...a change of diet is actually Good for your pet.

Hi, my min. schnauzer just had bladder stone surgery 3 weeks ago. The vet put him on a diet of Royal Canine SO food for the rest of his life. I do not like the meat by-products and Corn grits in it. I am looking for a natural holistic dog food for him. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you.

Linda,

You are a smart pet owner.  I would suggest changing vets along with the pet food for neither on seems to be interested in the health of your dog just the proceeds from feeding dangerous foods like RC.  I have found only one brand that has been able to stand up to the Pet Food Danger Gauge and that is Orijen.  There are other brands that do great but they are not available in the States.  So, for now, I am saying Orijen.
