News Flash for everyone the economy is in the dumps, and from this desk its just not the area I am sitting in, but pretty much everywhere. Often when time are bad many people resort to buying stuff on a credit card and figure they will pay it back later when times are better. Personally I do not have, use or want a credit card, I carry a debit card. If I don't have the cash I do buy it, but enough of the right way to do things and on with todays tidbit of useful information. Everyday I open my email to a smörgåsbord of credit card offers that keep my spam filter in business. Many of these offers are services that offer to help you get a credit card even if you have bad credit. These fraudulent credit card offers most often are targeted toward people who are having credit problems and haven’t been able to get cards elsewhere. While they may promise to get you a card, but in reality legitimate credit card issuers generally don’t do business with people who have bad credit histories.
If you get these offer in your email or even in your mail box, Don’t believe that you’ll get a credit card even if you have bad credit. They are often scams or if you can get a card it will be a such a high interest rate you will be in deeper trouble a few months down the road.
Never ever pay upfront. Its not the practice of legitimate credit card companies ask for a fee upfront. If there is an application or processing fee, it should be very small, not the hundreds of dollars that scam artists request. If there is an annual fee, it will appear on your first credit card statement.
Do not reply to about emails offering to get you a credit card. the vast majority of unsolicited emails are fraudulent.
There is a popular scam where a company will offer a "gold" or "Silver" card I have seen some of these card offers promise “gold” or “silver” cards from major card issuers. What often you will get (if anything) is a gold or silver-colored charge card. Sounds great right? Well it can only be used to buy highly over priced goods from the company’s own catalog. These offers are complete scams can anyone say paper shredder?
While I don't like credit cards and don't think you need on either I will tell you the proper way to get one. Apply for a credit cards directly from the issuer. Why pay another company to help you get a credit card when it will not improve your chances of obtaining one?
If you have credit problems, get counseling. Many Fraudulent credit card companies claim that they can repair your bad credit (with a large upfront fee of course). But you can correct inaccurate information in your credit files yourself for free, and no one can erase negative information that's accurate.
