How to Avoid Robbery When Traveling

1. Never carry large amounts of cash or take along valuable property.

2. If you are accosted by a thief or robber, the best advice is to cooperate.

3. Always plan ahead. When away from home at night, always have your keys in hand -- ready to enter the house... or get into your car.

4. Carry Self Defense products.

5. Practice using Self Defense products so that you won't be hurt.

How to keep safe from Sexual Assault

1. Use your initials rather than your first name on telephone listings and mail boxes.

2. Don't tell people who come to your door or call on the telephone that you are alone.

3. Don't go alone into a public or an apartment laundry room or dark parking garage.

4. It is risky to accept a ride home from someone you have just met.

5. If you should happen to be a victim of sexual assault, call police immediately. Do not bathe, wash, or change clothes -- this may be important evidence.

6. If you decide to fight an attacker, try to totally incapacitate him long enough to get away. RUN to safety and get help NOW.

Keep Safe when Using Bank Machines

1. When using an automatic bank machine... always be cautious and watchful of any people around you. If you see someone waiting and watching nearby the place of an ATM machine, don't USE IT! Leave and immediately report your suspcions to the police. You could protect others from being a victim of crime.

2. The opportunities to be robbed at nighttime are much greater than in the day -- especially if you are alone.

How to Keep Safe on the Street - Use Common Sense

1. If you carry a purse, always hold it close to your body with the flap closure toward the inside - don't hold lit the handles. Never wrap your purse straps around your wrist, because you could be injured in a struggle. Always stay in well lighted, busy areas. Don't walk alone. Stay away from known trouble spots.

2. If you think someone is following you -- cross the street and change directions a few times. Move into crowds, stay in well-lighted places. Don't go home. Don't let the thief know where you live.

3.Only carry only what you need in a purse or wallet. Carry ONE Credit card and have the number written elsewhere. Don't carry everything you have.

4. Don't walk on shortcuts. Stay away from dark alleys, vacant lots, dark parking lots and fields.
