Away We Go Film Review
62Lots of Laughs
My big day out today was lunch at Panera Bread and driving downtown to see the movie, Away We Go. I'm trying to get out and enjoy the activities I enjoy that may be limited right after having a baby. So, I
successfully navigated around the Farmer's Market, pedestrians,
bicyclists, eventually found street parking and waddled several blocks
to this theatre I'd never been to before. The cars were pretty good
about not trying to run me over, which was kind.
This is a
quiet, small film about a couple in their early thirties. They are
expecting their first child and realize they are rootless and visit
several places to see where they should settle down to start their
family. Along the way they meet a variety of dysfunctional characters
and crazy parents that make them realize how lucky they are to have
each other...even if they don't have it all figured out. One of my fav
lines was an ultra new age mom who freaks out that the couple gifted
her with a stroller, she proclaims, "I love my kids, why would I want
to push them away from me?" Here is the Fandango link:

I
loved it! I wish I had seen it with Alex, but I thought I'd spare him
one more chic flick. It made me feel grateful that we have more
familial support than the couple in the movie!
