Gasoline - 10 tips to save Gasoline

Want to spend less fuel? I gather this list of tips for you to leave less money at the gas station, without harming the performance of the car. Some may seem trivial to you, but try and end of the month do the math.

1. Attention to tire pressure
Keep tires calibrated according to the manufacturer's recommendations. A lower pressure means more rolling resistance and therefore higher fuel consumption. Least 0.3 bar in the tires increases by about 3 percent the amount of petrol needed.

2. Air Conditioning vs. Open Windows
That air conditioning increases the consumption we all know. So try using it in a rational way: warmest days, running with the windows open until the accumulated heat inside is dispersed. Then adjust the temperature slightly above the ideal, and that is enough to save something. Moreover, at the road is not advisable to run with the windows open because, in addition to causing an uncomfortable noise, increases the aerodynamic resistance and consumption by about 5 percent.

3. Low rotation
In gasoline cars low speed means lower consumption, even if it is necessary to speed up the fund to reach the desired performance. Why? if you want to spend less gasoline? shift gears soon, do not force the engine and, if necessary, skip one: can go from third to fifth. Furthermore, if you want to move to higher speeds, consider that the air resistance grows to the square of the speed: at 160 km / hour is four times that which would be 80 km / hour. As such, the consumption also grow exponentially.

4. Car Maintenance
Injectors and nozzles dirty air filters? Car annual check up forgotten? This increases fuel consumption. Avoid accessories that increase the friction with the ground? and larger tires?, affect the aerodynamics? major spoilers? Or modify the performance of the engine? sports exhaust pipes and turbo compressors. So if you want to save the petrol tuning is not the best option!

5. Watch your luggage
Avoid placing luggage in the car roof. If the only solution, balancing the load to be the least possible volume. Not leave the trunk of ceiling mounted if not to need it, because it is an accessory that increases the aerodynamic resistance and, of course, the fuel consumption? to 120 km / hour in his presence means more 20 percent of gasoline to be used by the engine. Also do not leave unnecessary loads within the vehicle (avoid unnecessary weight gain).

6. Avoid short journeys
This is not to stay home, leaving the tour the week-end. The idea is to not get in the car to go buy the newspaper's role in the following quarter. If the lunch restaurant near the office, avoid taking the car, or organize it with colleagues to travel only in a car. It is estimated that 10 percent of urban journeys are less than a kilometre and 25 percent have up to three kilometres. In short journeys, the engine operates at very regimes variables and partial load, increasing the amount of fuel. Moreover, in the cold starts, often in these situations, the engine needs more gasoline for the same amount of air and emits more CO2.

7. Eliminate bad habits

Certain habits, era not justified in modern cars, damaging the economy of gasoline. Never speed up before turning off the ignition, do not accelerate the car stopped and before the start, do not turn off the engine at fast stops (the consumption is minimum 1 to 2 litres per hour (only in more than three minutes stops).

8. Gently at the wheel

Stay up to the maximum possible time in high gear, but do not force the engine and do not leave it to the floor bumps. Conduct a regular speed, without significant acceleration or sudden braking (which consume much fuel). Starts with a whir and tires off a trail of smoke out of question.

9. Heat the engine in motion
Never heat the engine with the car stopped. The best start is to walk slowly and gradually speeding up to go, without requiring large power of the engine at the top. After few minutes, the engine (water and oil) will be at its normal temperature.

10. Monitor the consumption of cars
A sudden increase of fuel costs could mean an engine problem. If the monitor consumption on a regular basis will know when something malfunctions. Keep track of the miles that the car runs and how many litres supplies. To control consumption, divide the miles traveled between each supply the number of litres purchased.

11. Change of shedule at work
If you can suggest to your employer flexible hours (4 days with 10 hours of work, instead of 5 days with 8 hours of work so save a trip by car) that allows you to avoid the hours of greatest congestive. You can also suggest to your employer, if possible the option of teleworking.

12. Get a loyalty client card
Purchase a card customer. Some service stations offer benefits to regular customers, and discounts on other purchases, such as supermarkets.

13. Other tips

To not carry a pound more, fill the tank when empty;

Save time and money avoiding moving to the gas station several times;

Find the cheapest price of fuel;

Gasoline evaporates even inside the tank, so park in the shade;

Do not waste time and gas looking for the best place to park;

Plan your travel to not be lost on the road.

If you have many places to visit, try to combine them in a single trip;

Hi, yes we know them, some of them I didn't knew by the way ( I had to do a bit of research), but it's always good to remember these simple rules.

Here gasoline costs about between 1.14 euros and 1.28 euros the unleaded with less octane (if that's how we speel it).

In US dollars here costs much more. Euro is higher than us$.

Pound is almost even with euro, imagine!
