Baby Boomer got us all thinking about Skincare -- Are Women Smarter than Men when it comes to skincare?
56Men are staying young looking longer, as women do, and that's okay Guys!!
If you were to look at old movies from the 1950's, you will notice that there was very little attempt made to make older male actors look younger. This is because 50 years ago there were very few cosmetic products designed to maintain a male's youthful appearance. Thankfully, there have been many inroads in recent years regarding men's anti-aging skincare products that can effectively create a youthful appearance.
In general, however, many anti-aging skincare products are found in the domain of women's products. That has, however, changed a bit as there are a number of skincare products on the market these days that are directed towards men. This is a huge plus for men, but what needs to be understood is that anti-aging skincare products alone will not create a youthful appearance. Instead, there needs to be a broad based plan for achieving a younger look. This was the brilliant strategy employed successfully by the baby boomers. So, a little examination of how the baby boomers arrived at this conclusion...
In the swinging 1970's, it is noticeable that there was a number of gimmick oriented fashion fads designed to promote a youthful appearance in middle aged men. These gimmicks really didn't work but they laid the foundation for what was to come in the next decade. When the baby boomers generation reached middle age in the 1980's men started paying more attention to the right ways to achieve a youthful appearance.
Part of the reason for this is that the action movie fad of the 1980's promoted a number of incredible physical specimens in the role of powerful superman. The stars, however, were well into their late 30's and early 40's yet they maintained an incredibly youthful appearance. How did they do this? Generally, the secret to their success lied in diet and exercise. This spawned a renewed interest in fitness that laid the foundation for all the health and fitness clubs that exist today. In previous generations, only athletes visited the inside of a gym. Now, anyone can make exercise an important part of their life as gyms have become common place thanks to the baby boomer generation.
This later led to a number of supplementary products designed to aid in restoring a youthful appearance. Some of these products such as protein supplements were intended to build muscle; fat burners were designed to create a lean appearance; and many skincare products were designed to create a wrinkle free appearance. Thankfully, these products were quite successful in what they provided and did wonders for restoring men to their youthful appearance. Most importantly, in addition to the effects these products had on outward appearances, they did wonders for improving the overall health. However, it is important a point out that one needs to be a little bit more diligent when it comes to those skincare products.
If there was one major problem with common skin care products it would be that many are petroleum based topical solutions. These are fine for improving outward skin appearance but do very little for providing healthy nutrients to the skin. This is a very critical point because providing nutrients does not merely create an outward appearance of vitality. It actually makes the skin healthier. This is why it is always a better idea to purchase skin care products with natural ingredients as opposed to processed petroleum ingredients.
Some of the best skincare products on the market are produced by Agel as part of the "Ageless" line of skincare products. These products offer a host of benefits as their natural ingredients provide critical antioxidants. These antioxidants minimize the damage commonly occurs to the face.
In a way, natural skin care ingredients are no different than a number of exercise and diet supplements in the sense that they restore the body to its natural harmonious balance. Through the use of these products it is possible for men to maintain their young looking appearance through the revitalization of their skin. When this is done in association with a diet and exercise program, the results can be quite amazing.
In addition to skincare products, they're other things you can do to maintain a healthy, youthful skin. You'll find 7 Tips for Beautiful Skin below.

7 Tips for Beautiful Skin
Much has been written about skincare, tied to a particular product or treatment. But I want to give you 7 tips you may or may not know about, that apply to both Men and Women.
Beautiful skin has long been a very enviable trait. If you were to look at drawings from ancient Egypt or Rome you will notice that significant emphasis is placed on highlighting the look of the subject's skin. Of course, the envy of beautiful skin is not relegated to the ancient past. Today, many women still pursue a look to their skin that is alluring and beautiful. Of course, wanting to have beautiful skin is not the same as knowing how to achieve beautiful skin. Some may even assume that without the right genetics one will never have beautiful looking skin. While genetic gifts never hurt they are not an exclusive prerequisite to having beautiful skin. In fact, if a woman were to follow seven simple tips the ability to develop beautiful looking skin is possible.
Avoid overexposure to the sun. Often, beautiful skin is mentioned hand in hand with a beautiful tan. However, tanning is certainly not the way to achieve beautiful skin - at least not in the long run. Remember, tanning is a form of sunburn and sunburn destroys the skin. Excess tanning can lead to premature aging, and quite possibly skin cancer.
Invest in a quality moisturizer. Moisturizers aid in keeping the skin looking healthy. When skin is dry it is prone to cracking. This can create a wrinkled and somewhat leathery skin appearance. Moisturizers help overcome this problem as a moisturizer can do wonders for keeping the skin well hydrated and healthy looking. Best of all, many excellent moisturizer products are very affordable and easy to apply. So, there is no excuse for not having a quality moisturizer in your bathroom cabinet.
Drink lots of water. Ok, some may be saying drinking lots of water is a diet and weight loss tip. Actually, drinking a lot of water has a number of benefits because water provides the basis for cells to replenish. Since the skin is, of course, comprised mainly of cells keeping your cells healthy will do wonders for keeping your skin healthy. So, it never hurts skin health to drink a lot of water and remain hydrated.
Vitamin E supplements work wonders for the skin. Vitamin E is probably the most important vitamin you can take to replenish your skin. Vitamin E is found in a number of food sources and if your diet is deficient in vitamin E it is best to take vitamin E supplements. While many of these supplements are in capsule form there are also oils that can be applied topically on the skin as well. Both of these products work wonders for skin health.
Proper washing is always critical to skin health. Having clogged pores can lead to blemishes, acne and blackheads. Therefore, properly washing your face daily is important. Also, purchasing deep skin cleansers and using them at least once a day would be well advised.
Visit a dermatologist for a routine checkup. Obviously, if you have acne, seeking the help of a qualified physician would be advisable. But, you need not wait until a major breakout occurs prior to making an appointment to see a dermatologist. If you have minor blemishes that lead to concerns about the skin health, asking for a professional medical assessment can ascertain any serious skin problems before they develop.
A good diet does a lot to promote skin health. Eating the right diet will reveal itself in your skin's appearance. Best of all, such a diet does not include any exotic or hard to prepare meals. If you eat the proper amount of vegetables everyday you will acquire a number of helpful antioxidants that will do wonders for increasing the proper health of your skin. Yes, it is that simple!
While some of these tips may seem minor, they all go a long way in improving skin health.
There are many skincare products on the market, but they are not all good for your skin. Even some of the expensive products do not provide what your skin needs. Like the inside of our body our skin needs antioxidants to inhibit free radical damage to cellular DNA, Lipids, Proteins, and Enzymes. Free radicals are what cause us to age.
So always use skincare products made of all natural ingredients, without any petroleum by products in its formulation, but with an antioxidant bio-shield like Agel's Body skincare products.

Hi Rallie
Great Hub. My wife loves the whole skincare thing. Personally I haven't used anything on my skin for years except a bit of sunscreen in summer. That has worked for me.
Cheers
