Having a baby is a big decision in ones life and surely comes with a whole lot of responsibility. Choosing a name for your new born baby is nevertheless a responsibility you can't run away from.

Whatever you choose is for life, although legally their's a possibility of exchanging, but it's not a normal situation, in fact it occurs rarely, especially regarding first name.

Most people have chosen the name for their child long before their even conceived, some com from traditional families and name them after their ancestors. Others just name them like their dad or mom, some name them after TV stars or important players. Just as an example Cristiano Ronaldo, got the Ronaldo from Ronald Reagan which his father was a great fan of.

I personally went through a similar process a few years ago, long before, we had picked out the perfect situation a family of four with two children a boy and a girl, names picked out and everything. All went well on the fist one, a baby boy with a dream name defined a few years before. When the second one came .... Guess What? another boy ... odd enough it was my turn to choose a name.

So I started analyzing the possibilities, in reality their are hundreds of names... With this responsibility I started thinking of the importance a name has on a persons life, and in fact it has some influence, for example in school if your name starts with A or Z you'll surely be first or last in most activities.

I made up a list ... went on-line and found a whole bunch of sites with names for babies ... picked out 10 names which I felt comfortable .... showed them to the wife ... she approved. Then the hard part, a child can only have one name. So I had a weekly listing, every week I'd pick 3 that I liked the least, and spent the whole week thinking which one I would exclude ... I repeated this until I had 3 names left ... By that week, I had a pretty good idea of the name I chose for my child, no doubt at all, after all I ran several possibilities. This whole selection system sure helped me evaluate each name ... although at some point it looked more like a game show, as I would keep every decision secret till Saturday.

It worked well for me and I'm certain that the name I chose fits like a glove on my child ...

It's important that the name you choose for your child is a respectful one, as it'll follow him during his whole life. An remember that some names fit very well to babies and young children, but may not be suitable for a teenager or adult.

Good luck.
