A modeling portfolio is a set of snapshots that portray the natural features, style and appearance of a model. It depicts any past engagements that have been undertaken and most importantly acts as an introduction to potential agents.
For the adult model this is an obvious need. However, for a baby model the portfolio it is utterly unnecessary and usually a big waste of cash. The main reason for this is that infants grow up very rapidly to make the baby model portfolio useful to your child or an agent.
So instead of paying the cash to bring together an whiz bang portfolio that’ll unusable in several months you should spending your time and cash to bring together about three or four good quality snapshots that you can give to an modelling agency. The images can be taken in the home or professionally, but just remember that they will quite likely need to renew the snapshots in six months so spend your cash wisely!
Wahtever way you go, you will want to see that you obtain a good set of pictures. Try to have:
A head photograph. This is a close up photograph of your child.
A full length photo. This will provide a good indication of the length and general physique of your baby.
A personality shot. This will show something of your infants character.
Location photograph. Try to see that the photographs are shot both indoors and outdoors and in changed lighting situations. There can be a big difference when you have natural versus interior lighting.
Style photo. Dress up your infant appropriately and select a range of different outfits.
These are all easy steps to take and can be taken on your own camera. Plus with the benefit of digital you’ll be able to shoot large numbers of images if you wish and just opt for the few that show your infant how you like.
