Baby shower games are fun because they gets the guests talking and interacting with each other. This helps if there are people attending who don’t know one another. Here are some baby shower game ideas that are some of my favorites:

*Guests should divide into pairs and are each given a notebook... Then they fill the notebook with their best and favorite parenting secrets and/or likes and dislikes. The hostess does the pairing and may assign topics like potty training, pacifier weaning tips, best play date ideas, etc…. When everyone is finished go around the room and read aloud. This baby shower game is a lot of fun and everyone gets to learn from each other.

*Have guests bring a baby picture of themselves and assign a number to each one. Who ever finds all the correct matches of older to younger selves wins!

*Take the labels off of 10 jars of baby food. Give each one a number and pass them around the room for everyone to taste. The guests will write down what flavor it is. Whoever gets all 10 correct wins!

*Mix tiny safety pins in a bowl of rice. Blind fold each guest and see how many safety pins they can get out of the rice. Whoever gets the most wins.

*A great game for an all woman’s party is to read a list of items and each guest check to see if she has any of those items in her purse. Whoever gets the most items wins.

*A perfect co-ed baby shower games for a couple’s party is to pair boys and girls up together. They will diaper a baby doll, but they each have to have one hand tied behind their back. The team who diapers first wins.

*Pack a diaper bag with about 15 baby items in it. Pass it around the room and have each guest look real good through it. After everyone has had a chance to look through it, take it away. Now pass out sheets of paper and a pencil and have everyone list what they think is in the diaper bag. Whoever lists the most items or all of them wins!

*Bobbing for nipples! This is great when guys are guests. It’s exactly like bobbing for apples, only you bob for nipples. Fill up a large tub with water and add baby bottle nipples. Have the guests grab the nipples with their teeth. Give them 20 seconds or so and see who grabs the most nipples.  This is one of the most fun baby shower games to play!

*Baby Charades is also great for a couples party. Divide the guests into teams of 2. One player pantomimes a word or phrase and her/his teammate tries to guess what it is. All of the words being acted out have to be related to pregnancy, parenthood or babies in some way. You can either have them draw from a hat or they can think of their own ideas.

*Baby Hot Potato is a good couple’s game. Have everyone sit in a circle either on the floor or on chairs, pass a doll baby around to everyone as the music plays. Any cheery, happy baby music will be good. At intermittent times the music will stop and whoever is holding the baby has to tell the mom-to-be a great piece of parenting advice or one of their earliest childhood memories.

*Bottle races are a blast and it’s great for couple parties. Everyone gets a bottle filled with milk or some sort of drink. Whoever finishes it the fastest wins, or whoever drinks the most in a certain time period wins. They must suck on it as a baby would.
