Bachelorette Party Games

Last summer my best friend got married and I was given the honor of planning her bachelorette party. She and I have been friends for almost 20 years so I wanted this party to show her how much her friendship means to me. I had been to a few bachelorette parties before but I knew I wanted this one to be better. It took a lot of internet research and a lot of planning, but I think it was a party she won't forget!

First step...Location!

It is very important to establish up front where the bride-to-be wants to have the bachelorette party. The majority will choose a local bar or club, but just as destination weddings are becoming more popular, desination bachelorette parties are on the rise. My friend chose to have her party in Cancun.

Once that was decided, I started researching flights. For about a week, I just looked at prices and figured out when the best deals were going to be. Since the girls that were being invited lived in various locations around the country, I ended up having to choose dates where prices were decent and where the majority would be able to come.

Next Up...Itinerary!

After weeks of hotel research, I found one that was going to work with our budgets and and my friend would be happy with. Now it was time for the fun stuff...what were we going to do when we were there?

I knew I wanted this to be a classy trip, but still silly and fun. That meant no strippers or lapdances. Since there were so many girls and we were all in a new place that we hadn't been before, I left the first night open for us to get acquainted with each other and to explore the city a bit. The second night would be game time!

Bachelorette Party in a Suitcase

Because we were flying, I had to plan games that would be travel-friendly. There are a million great ideas out there, but I needed something simple and something that didnt take up a lot of space. I decided on two games that were relatively easy and turned out to be a big hit!

  1. Word Scramble - 20 wedding/bachelorette party words are scrambled up and the girls are given three minutes to figure them out. This was played in the hotel just before going out to the bars. It was great while drinking and got everyone involved. The winner got a feather boa (I ended up giving one to everyone though)!
  2. Groom Namecard - The groom's name is written out vertically on a card and for each letter there is a specific task. For example if his name starts with a "D", it might be "dance on the bar". Attach a string to the card and the bachelorette wears it around her neck. She must complete all of the tasks before the night ends or before she passes out, whichever comes first!

All of the Goodies

As I mentioned earlier, I did want the party to be silly..what would a bachelorette party be without all of the penis products??? Just before playing the word scramble. we had a coronation ceremony where my friend was crowned with her tiara and veil that she had to wear for the night. I opted not to add anything to it, but lots of people will attach condoms or little penises which will get more attention at the bars.

We also gave everyone a penis straw that they had to drink out of and the bachelorette was given a large penis sippy cup that she has to carry with her all night. Even though we were on the tame side as far as the penis products, it still got us a lot of attention...and a lot of free drinks!

All in all, I probably ended up bringing one extra suitcase. The feather boas took up most of the room. Games were all on paper so that was minimal and penis paraphenalia took up the next amount of space. I had to check in on the way out, but if you squeeze it all in a duffle bag, that could easily be fitted into your suitcase on the flight back and you can carry everything on.

I am planning my sister's bacheloretter party for Oct. I was wondering if you can give me any tips as to which clubs/bars would be fun. We do not like to be surrounded by too many "young" people, 21 over.

Thanks for your help.Ann

Whacksock is a great Bachelorette party gag-gift. It's a good item to give to the bride to be when her man needs to be naughty and she wants to be nice!! Buy a few 6-packs to give out at the party!!!
