Back Pain
47
Back Pain is often multi-factorial. It can come from problems from the muscles, disks, joints, or some combination of all of these. Muscular back pain, also called musculoskeletal pain, is typically due to injury and treated with common over the counter or prescription antiinflammatories. Other options include massage, physical therapy, or acupuncture.
Disk related back pain is likely to be the next most common cause of pain and can also lead to nerve root compression and leg pain. This type of pain can be treated initially with similar treatment of musculoskeletal pain. For pain that does not respond, surgery may be an option.
