Are you bothered by hair growing on your back and need back hair removal? Well you are not alone, but happily there are many back hair removal methods for you to consider.

First, you need to decide if this is something you really want to pursue and whether you want temporary removal or permanent removal. If you are thinking temporary, you will need some assistance to remove the hair and to keep it up. If you are looking at permanent removal, well, just know that it will cost you some money, but the results can be a relief to those who are really bothered by the back hair.

Temporary Back Hair Removal Methods

Let’s look at some ways you can temporarily remove back hair. Of course, the way that comes to mind first is to shave it. Simply get your back wet and have someone lather you up with soap or shaving cream and shave away.

Depilatories

Okay, that is simple enough, but you could end up with an itchy back when the hair starts to grow back or even worse, you may end up with stubbles. There are also chemical depilatories like women use on their legs. This is an effective method and many times, the hair grows back slower and softer. However, it is a chemical and it smells pretty bad. Plus, if you leave it on too long you can end up with severe chemical burns. Personally, I don’t like applying any chemicals to my body because I fear it will soak into my pores and have some long-term effect that no one knew about.

Waxing

Another temporary back hair removal method is wax removal of hair. We’ve all seen people on television getting hair waxed. You should know that waxing is painful; there is no way around that fact. There are a couple of types of wax to choose from. The most popular in salons is the hot wax. It feels good going on, but you better believe it does not feel good coming off. There are also wax strips which use cold wax and there are sugar strips, which are not wax but a sticky syrup of sorts that works just like wax. The positive side of waxing is that it lasts longer than shaving or depilatories and the hair seems to come in less and less after each waxing.

Plucking

As far as temporary back hair removal, the only other option is plucking. I have tried to pluck the hair between my eyebrows once and some unwelcome stray hairs on my face, I can’t even imagine someone plucking back hair. When I plucked my eyebrows, I had to stop every three or four hairs to wipe away tears. Nope, I really don’t think you should consider plucking, unless you just have a few random hairs on your back.

Permanent Back Hair Removal Methods

So, let’s take a look at permanent removal methods. There are actually some nice options for permanent back hair removal.

Electrolysis Back Hair Removal

Electrolysis was the first original, permanent hair removal method. With this method, a licensed professional uses a piece of equipment to try to kill the root of a hair. Yes, I said, “a hair.” They use a small handheld device that has a wire on the tip that is thinner than a hair. One pore at a time, they slide that wire into the pore and zap it with a small electrical current which hopefully kills the hair at its root. It is a very tedious method and may require multiple treatments before it is permanent, and so it can be very expensive in the long haul.

Laser Back Hair Removal

Probably the most sought after treatment is laser back hair removal. While not exactly cheap, as its popularity grows, the cost does seem to be coming down. Like electrolysis, it will likely require a few treatments; however, since it is not too painful, you won’t mind going back.

Basically what happens with laser back hair removal is that they cover your back (or an area of it) with a gel and then they start zapping you with a laser light. I know people who have had it done and they say that it feels like someone lightly snapping you with a rubber band. After the procedure, the hair begins falling out within two weeks. The results are awesome, and if your back hair really bothers you, this will probably worth money and slight discomfort.
