Backache may afflict any area of the vertebral column or the adjoing muscles. These kinds of pains are often seen in elderly people but now a days due to poor posture people of any age are becoming the victim of this problem. Though there are no gender specifics, it may be a bit more in men than in women.even young children get this problem due to the load of books they carry to school
Causes of Backache may vary from person to person.Following are the major
1)Joint pain(due to age )
2) Muscular pain(due to over activity)
3)Improper diet(insufficient intake of nutrients needed by the body)
4)Eating junk food(junk food is basically fried food and it form gastric in your body and may lead to various pains)
5) No physical activities(people who are coach potatoes)
6) Constipation(improper intake of water content lead to constipation and thus lead to pains
7) Arthritis(due to old age and calcium deposit in the joints)
8) Improper functioning of kidney(may lead to increase in uric acid )
9) Obesity, influenza(obesity puts extra weight on you to carry thus leads to more pressure on the vertebrae)(flu is a kind of sickness which gives you bodily pain and it is associated to backache too)
10)Irregular menstrual cycle in women(often women become fat and get backache ,even clotting causes immense pain when it is not passed out clearly through the vaginal tract)

1)Avoid overexertion and relax in between work, do certain stretching exercises .
2)people not accustomed to heavy lifting should not try to carry or do too much lifting at a time.
3)Take a diet consisting of a salad with raw vegetables such as tomato, carrot, cabbage, cucumber, radish, lettuce to get a complete set of vitamins and steamed or lightly cooked vegetables such as cauliflower, cabbage, carrot, spinach sprinkled with black pepper and little salt and one or two fruits, exclude green banana and include yellow banana in your diet as it is rich in iron and calcium.
4) Bend your knees when you pick up a heavy object. Keep your back straight.
5)Do not consume fatty, spicy, and fried foods,as it may form gastric and lead to pain curd (has cooling effect and may prove harmful )sweetmeats and sugar put weight and aggravate pain and tea and coffee are also harmful.
6)It is advisable to eliminate pulses that form gas from your diet(such as kidney beans, arhar dal, urad dal). Also reduce rice intake or you may have brown rice. Food grains such as wheat, millet and sorghum are better as these are warm food.
7)Exercise regularly without overdoing it . Keep a moderate routine of exercise , strenuous exercise may cause harm than benefit.
8)often Change your sitting position .that is Shuffle your position in between. Keep flexible.
9)Do not sleep on a soft mattress, use a hard mattress or semi hard one.
10)See that the chair you use makes contact with your spine fully.
11) Take Vitamin C rich food daily it helps to curb backache.Eat citrus fruits.
12)Avoid consumption of alcohol and also avoid smoking, tobacco, and other narcotics.
Home Remedies for Backache
1)Eat couple of garlic cloves every morning. .
2)Mix a pinch or two salt to lemon juice(fresh) and have it.lemon juice has a magical effect in curbing backache.
3)Take one gram of pure asafoetida(hing) to egg yolk. Apply on the affected region. its an instant pain reliving method.
4)Add a couple of cardamom and 1/2 spoon of turmeric powder in warm milk and drink it every night before going to bed. it will give you immense relief
5A common home remedy for backache is using potato. grated raw potato is spread over a thin cotton cloth and covered with piece of cloth.Place it on the pain full area it help a lot.you may boil potato peels and have the decoction it relives pain as it helps to fight uric acid increase in our body
6)Take bishop weed (ajwain seeds) and put it in a small piece of cloth. heat it on flat pan and apply it over the paining back.
7)apply lime(calcium(chuna) ) and honey.It is also a good remedy for backache.
8)Put two teaspoons of cumin seed powder in a bowel of warm water. Soak a towel then use it to press the affected parts.you may have cumin seed powder every day to relief pain (one tea spoon)
Herbal preparation for the Remedies for Backache
1)Take 10 garlic cloves in mustard oil or sesame oil or coconut oil. Heat the oil for some time until the cloves get burned , Cool the mixture and apply it over the affected area by massaging .Take a bath in warm water. It is one of the most effective and efficient herbal remedies for backache.
2)Mix a bundle of lemon grass with coconut oil and blend it and apply it externally on the affected regions. This eases pains.
