Bargain Holiday Tips

Are you planning a holiday? Then this page is for you if you wish to save some time and more importantly money.

It can be very time consuming searching the Internet for the best deal for you and it is easy to overlook that perfect deal, there are millions of great bargains on millions of travel websites that offer everything from package holidays to booking your own room and flights.

Below are my top tips to help you get the best deal.

STOP SEARCHING:

RSS feeds and newsfeeds mean that you don't have to search anymore to see if websites have been updated, look for the square orange button on the right of your internet explorer toolbar, click on it and set up the feed, all of your feeds can be found in your IE favourites centre.

EMAIL:

Most travel websites these days send out a regular email listing their latest offers, subscribe to them and the information will come to you on a regular basis.

BID FOR FREEDOM:

Take a gamble and you could find yourself with a fantastic deal, try Ebay for flights, hotels and even the full holiday package. Some holiday companies also offer an auction option for example; Thompson Holidays UK offers you the chance to bid for hotel rooms. Car del mar, offer a "Name your own price" car hire option.

PRICE COMPARISON:

Sites such as traveljungle.com or travelsupermarket.com compare what is on offer from the many travel agents and travel websites to find you the best offer to suit your needs.

FLIGHTS:

There are many budget airlines out their such as Easyjet and Ryanair who offer reduced price flights to selected destinations, but if you are planning a trip to somewhere those airlines don't cover then you should shop around for a last minute deal from a charter airline, who often have cancellations or under booked flights.

AVOID DELAYS:

Flightstats.com offers an overwhelming amount of information on flights, delays and cancellations, but it is worth the hard work when you find out which airline will be most likely to leave you stranded at the airport when you should be laying on the beach. The site also offers links to cheap holiday deals and frequent flyer promotions.

ACCOMODATION:

Once your flights are sorted you will need a room, lowcostbeds.com and hostelbookers.com are exactly what they sound like hostels provide the cheapest rooms no matter where in the world you travel.

Hotelscomparison.com compares prices over a lot of websites to help you find the best deal.

Once you see a hotel you like, a quick search of tripadvisor.com will provide you with all of the information and reviews from people who have stayed there.
