Bajaj's new Pulsar 220 2009
80Pulsar is the name which has given Bajaj a new life. Yes only because of Pulsar Bajaj is surviving in the market today.
Bajaj was quite on Pulsar in last year, but this year Bajaj have come back with two models of Pulsar. First is Pulsar 180 2009 and Pulsar 220 2009. Pulsar 220 2009 is advertised as the fastest Indian on the road. Pulsar 220 2009 have replaced the Pulsar 200 directly in the price segment. Means their will be no 4rth Pulsar present in the market. So Pulsar 200 fans or willing buyers, you have to go for either Pulsar 180 or Pulsar 220. But don’t bother New Pulsar 180 2009 is as fast as Pulsar 200 and new Pulsar 220 is much more faster than its old version.
First we will go with the price range. The new Pulsar 220 has an Ex-show room price of 70,000 only. So beating the else competition in price range ( Karizma 75,000, R15 1,12,000, FZ 16 75,000). So anybody wants power and don’t have enough money, you have a very good option here. This move is going to lower down prices of other bikes in the Indian market very soon.
Now let’s talk about the power output. The new Pulsar 220 gives output of stunning 20bhp at max. Which means more power and better acceleration? Yes the bikes initial reviews have suggested that its engine doesn’t die at top speed as like earlier version of the P220 DTS-i. And there is lots of improvement, which we will talk more in the hub.
So whets the top speed of the bike? 140 Kmp/h specified by Bajaj. Yes it gives you 10 Kmp/h but it also gives you more than this. Yes the real world test have shown it can reach 145+ Kmp/h. That’s awesome. The bike can do 0-60 in less than 4 sec. The fastest one on Indian Roads. So it beats R15 in Top Speed and Acceleration aspects. So Mileage should be bad. Aha its 35-40 Kmp/l , isn’t it fantastic. So you get all in one package.
Another change in bike is the total Black theme and change in headlight design. And it looks stunning. It looks more like sport bike now. And the soft tires make it smooth in cornering.

the bike is superb but only for those willing to spend a lot on petrol because it gives a very less mileage compared to the 180
Price quoted is awesome. But I still love my R15. I ride it on 135km/h, but the bike war charging at that time. Professional can go beyond 150 km/hr. The bike remains amazing even in 130.
