1. The youngest player goes first.

2. Each player places a card face down inside the playing arena. This card should placed on the side nearest to their opposite opponent. If there are only two players, then they should each put down two cards. Every time a card is put down it should match up with either the side or the end of another card. An ability card cannot be the first card placed by any player. When the cards are placed, then the arena is ready for battle.

3. Players take turns rolling their Bakugan like a marble. The marble shaped Bakugan are magnetic, and the cards are made of metal. Players aim their Bakugan to roll onto any of the face down cards. When the Bakugan rolls onto a card, then the Bakugan is left standing on the card. If the Bakugan doesn't stay on any cards, then it is returned to the player. Whether their Bakugan is standing or not, after shooting a player has the option of placing another card.

4. The battle happens when a Bakugan stands on a card already occupied by another standing Bakugan. The Bakugan are removed from the card, and the card is flipped over. The G power of each Bakugan is then added or subtracted to the corresponding G power on the card. (The card says whether to add or subtract.) The battle is won by the Bakugan with the highest G power. The winning player gets to keep the card and his opponent's Bakugan.

5. There are other ways to win. When a player knocks a standing Bakugan off a card, and then stands on that same card, he wins the card. When a player stands two Bakugan on the same card, then he automatically wins the card.

6. The final winner is decided once all battle cards have been captured, or when only one person has Bakugan left to Brawl with. Each captured card will have a certain number of HSP points. (HSP = Holo Sector Points.) Players add up all the HSP points of the cards they captured, and add another 100 HSP points for each Bakugan they won in battle.  The player with the most HSP points is crowned the Battle Brawlers champion.
