Ballard Public Library
59
This branch of Seattle's public library system was completed in May 2005.
Architect: Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, Contractor: PCL Construction Services INC
It displays a couple of obvious green building features: a living roof and passive and active solar systems.
Although far less grand than its big sister downtown, this neighborhood branch also creates an inspiring gathering space with innovative materials and nice details.
