Baldwinsville NY

Baldwinsville, Ny is located in Central New York about 15 minutes Northwest of Syracuse. The Seneca River meanders through the quiet town and provides the constant sound of running rapids. Along the river reside many small bars and restaurants, along with the odd coffee shop or breakfast nook. The River ambiance provides a perfect place to sit down and enjoy a meal with friends.

I always enjoyed going to a local farm in the fall and picking bushels of apples for homemade apple pie, or sampling the Cider from one of the many Cider mills. The town sits on the edge of the "Snow belt" and averages 120+ inches of snow every winter. The fluffy lake effect snow produces a perfect winter scene. In the middle of the River is an island which houses an old paper mill turned hotel; and an ampitheater where concerts and fireworks are held. Often times you can find live acoustic bands or an open mic night at the local bars. It is a great place to hang out with friends and listen to some good music over a drink. My favorite bar is called the Edge Water which has a deck overhanging the river.

The local mascot is a Bee... that's right like bzzz bzzz. Rumor has it that the local mascot used to be the Senecas named after the Seneca Indians which inhabited the land before any settlers moved in. Years later the public school system was told to remove the Senaca as there mascot, and was thus left mascot-less. So whenever the newspapers published anything about the Baldwinsville athletic team they would just put a B next to it. Ex. Baldwinville B- 10, Liverpool Warriors 2. Thus Baldwinsville became the Bee's.
