Baptism
Baptism is one of the most special events you'll ever experience in your life. Being symbolic of the decision you have made to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior comes second to none. Baptism is the act that follows the decision to accept Christ, which is the biggest decision you'll ever make. It is a way to show everyone that you have made that acceptance and that you are now committed to living a Christian life.

What Baptism Means
The baptism itself is not what saves you. It's just water. Nothing magical about that. But once accepting Christ, you are to try to walk in his footsteps and he himself was baptized. It's a symbolic act of washing away the old life and starting a new one.
Some Protestant religions practice baptism of infants, while other Protestant religions think that is meaningless. The child is not old enough or wise enough to understand, so what's the point?
Whatever baptism is for you, you may want to share your joy with a nice celebration. It may not even be you that is getting baptized, it may be your child, or another family member, or even a friend. Regardless, it's a joyful time, it's a time for celebration, and it's a time to share with others who care. .
You can announce the baptism and/or celebration of the baptism right online at Events Listed. If you are having a celebration you can also send out the invitations from here and obtain the replies.

Finding the Right Party Ideas
Being that baptism is a formal, religious ceremony, you want to keep the celebration appropriate and respectful. This is not a good time for loud music and disco balls. Below is a list of things you can do in addition to food and drinks.
* Baptism Word Find
You can create a word find related to baptism and have your guest work on that while you get food and other things set up. You can make it into a contest where the first one finished wins a prize.
* Bible Trivia
See who know the most when it comes to the Holy Ghost! Play Bible Trivia after the meal and test each other's Bible knowledge and learn a few things along the way.
* Garden Party
Have a lovely fellowship outside in a garden setting to be surrounded by God's nature creations. What better way to symbolize the new life of the one just baptized than to celebrate in the middle of God's beautiful nature, where there is constant new growth and fresh blooms?
However you decide to celebrate or not, for easy announcement of the baptism and/or information on the baptism celebration, go to Events Listed. If you need to send out any invitations you can also do that here and you can obtain the RSVPs here as well.
Enjoy the special day and this special time in life. May God bless you and keep you.

You mentioned: "The baptism itself is not what saves you. It's just water. Nothing magical about that"
But 1 Pet 3:21 says that baptism "now saves us", not because there's magic in the water, but "through the resurrection of Jesus Christ"
Though we do not attach any magical powers to the physical element of water, we need not deny the efficacy of the rite itself, in which the Spirit operates according to the Word of God, in tandem with our faith.
