A bar can be a fun and profitable business if you have the right bar equipment and the right employees to help your bar to succeed. You might wonder what equipment that you need and where you can get it. With a little research, it’s not as hard as you might think to find out.

Decide How You Want To Run Your Bar
One of the first things that you will need to do once you have the space, is to decide if you plan on running just a bar or if you will also offer food items. This can be hard to know unless you have been into a lot of bars. Many will serve a small amount of food items to get a little more business. This might also depend on what you have to spend on the bar that you are opening as well. If you have a smaller budget, then you probably don’t want to look at the food options.

Under Bar Refrigerators
Most bars have their products kept in a cold place before serving. This can be an under bar refrigerator or other form of bar equipment. A cooler is also a good idea for your bar. These options can run quite high at $1500 for a basic unit. A walk in cooler is going to be even more than the under bar options. Again the option that you choose will probably be based on your budget and what you have to spend on that item.

Bar Stools
When most people think of bars, they think of bar stools first. This is something that every bar pretty much has. You can have a whole line of bar stools or you can have just a few. That’s really up to you and what you can afford to do. There are also a ton of different styles that you can pick from. The style and amount of bar stools that you pick will often depend on what you can spend and how much you really want to spend on them. You also may have to change styles if the style that you want is too pricy. Don’t be committed to something that you are not sure that you are going to be able to afford.

Under Sinks and Under Bar Stations
This kind of bar equipment is a great fit for a small bar that just wants to take care of the dishes that they have at the bar. They are a nice size and can be customized to fit the bar that you have. Most of these set ups run $1000 on the lower end of the spectrum. These can be used for almost any bar set up and most price ranges. If you look hard enough, you can probably find one that will work for you and your bar.

Ice Machines
These are very nice for getting the ice just right in any kind of drink. You can have them behind the bar or in the back. This is really up to you. Ice machines come in many sizes and can be placed almost anywhere. The size that you will end up with for your bar is entirely up to what you can spend. Ice machines run from a mild $500 to a higher price of $1500 or more. The price will depend on where you get your machine from and what size it is. Take a little time and look around and see if you can find better prices than the first ones that come your way. It pays to look at many dealers instead of just one.

Keg Coolers
Every bar needs to have at least one keg on hand and everyone is expecting that keg to be cold. The best way to do this is to have a keg cooler ready to go at your bar. These range in size, depending on how many kegs you want the cooler to hold. Some will hold only one while others can hold up to four at one time. The price also ranges from one size to the other. Your best bet for these is to look around and see what different places have to offer, but the usual price range for a keg cooler is $500- $2000.

There are many things that you might want to consider when you are opening a bar and getting the equipment that you need. These are only a few of the options that you can find and put into your bar. Take the time to look at all of the options that are in front of you when you are getting ready to really open your bar. This way you will have all of the things that you want in your bar and you will be happy while running your bar. That is, after all, one of the prime reasons to open your bar in the first place.
