By now if you’ve been following the series about kitchen bar stools and counter stools and their respective price lists, you are aware that it would take half a library just to catalogue all the barstool options on the market today, not to mention those in the antique galleries in China, Japan and all around the world where a bar set may consist of several wood stools in a pub to a dozen trendy kitchen counter stools in an Asian minimalist loft style apartment.

While I’m writing and researching (and hopefully helping you to narrow down your selection of furniture choices in the barstool department) about concepts for my kitchen décor and choosing between solid wood, metal or the new aluminum models, I find that I want to buy a few stools for the other areas of my newly renovated house.

A tall wood bar stool for the bedroom could be a great place to hang a shirt at bedtime. I also thought I’d like some swivel stools on the two terraces I have, one has a garden so I’ll use some teak wooden bar stools, and the other patio overlooking the yard with a large balcony, I think I’ll put four or five tall breakfast bar stools pulled up to the balcony edge to overlook  the fountain. I think that will be a good place for evening cocktails.

It has been quite a process sifting through all the choices and to understand that there is a noticeable difference between each. For example the comparison of the multipurpose kitchen counter stools versus counter bar stools and how to select amongst the numerous choices of modern swivel stools and those ever popular leather stools and their cousins the vinyl seat stools that are easier to clean but may not last quite as long.

I know I have rambled on about the unique finds in minimalistic design concepts for home furnishings using backless counter stools and have offered too many choices in saddle seat counter stools, like the Zen models which I love.
