Barack Obama: House Negro

Many years ago, Malcolm X gave a memorable speech comparing the "field Negro" with the "good house Negro." He explained that the "good house negro", because he lives in the same house as the "massa" wants everything to remain status quo, whereas the "field negro", if he sees the house burning down, will let it burn, in fact, he will pray for a wind. In other words, the "field Negro" can be understood as someone definitely wanting change. Now the question: is Barack Obama a "good house Negro?" Some think so. He carries himself like a white man. Remember Barack was raised by his white grandparents from the age of 10. He lives in a 1.65 million dollar Georgian mansion in Illinois. His white mother was able to send him to an expensive prep school in Honolulu, Panahou Prep School. Senator Obama said in his book "I was going to a fancy prep school, and my mother was on food stamps while she was getting her Ph.D, according to Joe Klein of time.com Rather than being an agent of change, he most likely is "just words." Dr. Rev. Carles David Manning, of Harlem, a highly educated man and theologian has issued several warnings previously about different candidates and has now issued several warnings about Senator Obama, please see the videos below. Dr. Manning pointed out that in her UCLA speech just recently, Oprah clearly belittles white middle class women, stating that she abandoned Hillary because she is a "free woman." What does that mean Oprah? That you're proud of being in an illicit relationship with Stedman? Truth of the matter is that she has the "hots" for Obama. However, the American Media did not pick up on this because they want a very liberal Democrat in the White House. I don't pretend to understand the black community. I guess I have a littele glimpse, because I am a woman with a doctorate, who hasn't experienced all the success that such a level of education would usually afford. I can not pretend to understand the beatings of Birmingham, the segragation, the pains of slavery. It has been said by historians that Senator's wealthy Kenyan Muslim family were slave traders and that on his maternal side his ancestry traces back to slaveholders here in America. All of this seems to corroborate Dr. Manning's analysis that Senator Obama, or as Dr Manning calls him Omawali ("son to be called home") is truly a House Negro, and not an agent of change at all. Dr. Manning, who has a couple of degrees in Psychology speaks of Barack as a "misfit", and needing psychological counseling. Personally have found it very curious that in the way he carries himself there seems to be some signs of being "stuck up." Have you noticed the way he seems to keep his nose in the air? Having been abandoned by both parents? I don't know how many of you say the movie :The Departed". In the 1st part of the movie, Mark Wahlberg dresses down police applicant Bill Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) and points out his family dysfunctionality and asks "Just how F____ed up are you?" Way more than Hillary, that's for sure.

Did you listen to Malcolm X video? I wasn't the one who called him that originally. Dr. James Manning, from Harlem called him that.

As a white woman, it would be pretentious and rude for me to assume that I understand the Black Community. That is why I extensively referenced the Black community leaders in my blog, like Malcolm X, Dr. Manning, etc., and my god-nephew who is bi-racial.

This man is the most ignorant life form to survive the turn of the century. This dumbA$$ negro does not realize that slavery has ended and that he does not have to bow down to the white man anymore so he is offended that we as a people accept that we can have a place in high power in this country today. I fully supported Bill Clinton during his presidency and thought he was what America needed at the time he served. I don't dislike Hillary and as a woman would support her if I agreed with her ideology. Her message is weak at best and her tactics embarrass me as a female. Bill Clinton was a great president and is a wise man but his tenure ended almost 10yrs ago. He is a different person and his actions during this campaign also shows that he has changed. The idiot "pastor" talking to his congregation the way he did is despicable and if there is anyone in the church with an ounce of sense they will see right through that facade. James Manning is a fool and self hatred is all that ails him! I can not and will not judge him but his own bible tells him not to judge man, that is the work of his father.

Actually, I have to agree with your estimation of Rev. Manning.. Some of what he says has truth, but then he really gets into rants and raves. I stopped subscribing to him, after he called Obama's mother "white trash". She was a PhD. and an atheist, I believe. I heard that Rev. Manning's own wife is "light-skinned", so does that make her "white trash"? I'm afraid that with all his education he has really lost it. However, I am keeping this hub up since it does show some of the thinking in the Black community. Personally, I think that Hillary is much stronger than her husband, because she has been through so many ordeals. And, contrary to the belief that being a "first lady" brings no experience, I thoroughly disagree.

Look. I didn't say these things. this Harlem Pastor did. He's been there for 26 years. Now I agree that he's kind of lost it. However, Obama's grandfather did have connections to have his son Barack Sr. get a scholarship to U of Hawaii. when Barack Sr. returned from completing his PhD at Harvard he was Minister of finance. However, I believe he had some personal issues and drinking problems and, in fact died while DUI. They may be impoverished now, but in the middle of the 20th century, they did count for something. Now as far as Malcom X's assassination is concerned, Malcolm's daughter believes it was Farrakhan. But there are different theories. One is Elijah Muhammad, nation of Islam gave the order, because Malcolm X was no longer obedient to him. The other is the Secret service. However, if you read Spike Lee's book and movie, it seems to point to Elijah Muhammad, who is not considered a "house Negro."

Im very confuse I will not listened to what Dr. Manning is preaching which all is opinion and not fact (pharisees) they are the very people who crucified Jesus. Im sorry will not tolerate this my mom was a black single parent and she taught me well she also taught me if you want to hide something from a black man put it in a book I guess Dr. Manning missed that bus. She also taught that son you are a black man you have to be better than the best how bad do you want it. With her teachings I now have my own business, a executive position in the #1 telecommunications company in the world, a half of million dollar house, and alot of assets. I guess my mom was a field negro thanks to her I have more than what people have double my age Im still in my 20's Im not even 30 yet. All praises be to God
