Barbra Streisand is to date the music industry's best-selling female artist with 50 Gold, 30 Platinum and 13 Multi-Platinum albums. Barbara Streisand is second in the all-time charts, ahead of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, exceeded only by Elvis.  She is the highest album-selling female recording artist ever, with 29 having achieved top ten status.  Another interesting fact about Barbara Streisand is that she remains the only artist to receive Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy, Golden Globe, Cable Ace, and Peabody Awards, and the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award.

Barbara Streisand was born in Brooklyn, New York. She started her singing career in her early teens as a nightclub singer. She made her dubut in 1960 and has recorded more than 60 albums.

In September 1993, she made news, announcing her first public concert appearances in 27 years. This tour made history as it made her the highest paid concert performer.
