Barry Island is a sea resort of the town of Barry. It is located at Barry (Vale of Glamorgan) that also houses CardiffAirport. The town has been named after the 6th century Saint Baruc (a disciple of Saint Cadoc).

The BarryIsland beach is considered to have the world's second highest tidal range. BarryIsland is a peninsula linked to the Town of Barry. Previously it used to have the smallest of the Butlins holiday camps but now it is more famous for its beach and BarryIslandPleasurePark. The BarryIslandPleasurePark is a well known amusement park for the locals of Barry, Cardiff and South Wales. The park is usually open from Easter onwards till the first week of September.

BarryIsland contains a beautiful beach good for swimming, the amusement park and a range of shops, amusement arcades, bars and restaurants. The pleasure park at Barry has a good range of rides to cater for both young and old, including the famous and busy Log Flume, the Viper Rollercoaster, Sea Ray Pirate Ship, Dodgems and several others. Entry to the Park is free but rides can be taken with tickets available from the ticket boxes.
