In my last hub entitled Barstool Sports I took a look at the movement that has taken the activity of Barstool sports out of the bar room and into the streets with bar stool racing. If you haven't heard of this before it all takes place when a motor is attached to a stool to transport crazy participants to and from their respective bars. seating is selected with an eye to their function based on size and the width between the legs so as to be capable of mounting the engine in the space in between.

In this hub we are going to take a look at some of the things that you will want to take into account when looking for your own Barstool racer.

Barstool Choices

  • Counter Stool Designs – Counter bar stools may need some extra adjusting to be streamline racers, but here are some models that may be worth the effort: Cottage Oak Counter Bar Stool with heavy curved seat for excellent comfort and support from Giselle Counter Bar Stools for $227.90. Also the Birmingham Retro Swivel Counter Bar Stool in chrome with a classic red seat from Vision Decor for only $66.26. This may be especially good because it will fit well with the modular tube encasing of a racer since it is constructed with chrome tubes. It also has a sturdy polyurethane foam seat. Perhaps the ultimate challenge would be to design a racer using the Bayberry Wicker Swivel Counter Stool from Everything Furniture for $182.89, but it would certainly be unique because it’s made of bamboo. The best might be the Bar Stool with Nailhead Trim from StacksandStacks for $94.99 which is solid hardwood stool, or build a double set of racers using 2 Cherry Kitchen Counter Bar Stools from The Furniture Cove for $159. Another good choice might be the elegant and sturdy Richardson Cherry Swivel Bar Stool from Club Furniture for $279, or the Nassau Brown Finish Swivel Game Counter Bar Stool from Vision Décor for $509.for a truly distinguished and regal barstool racing ride. If you’re not up for swivel then the Oxmoor Non-Swivel Counter Stool from Everything Furniture might be a good choice at $217, or even better still, try the cappuccino finished Wheat Back Kitchen Barstools from Furniture Creations for just $149.

  • Bar Chairs – A good bar chair is the Groovy Stuff Furniture Stump Seat Bar Chair, but since it’s solid wood it may a tad heavy, so on the lighter side there’s a bar stool chair called the Ostrich Bar Chair by Lumisource that is sturdy but lightweight and has a faux leather seat and a back as well as gun metal legs and frame. A very chic ride indeed!

  • Other Furniture Bar Stools that racers should consider – 1. Derek White Counter-height Bar Chair – a counter-height chair made of solid pine with an antique white finish. 2. Sutton Bridge White Frame Monterey Outdoor Bar Chair which is claimed to have very versatile applications due to having a heat-cured powder coat finish and been made from anti-microbial wood which would be great for a street cruiser barstool racer that must endure the elements. 3. Commercial Grade Schoolhouse Bar Chair 4. Black Lia Bar Chair which has a shiny chrome finish and metal legs.
