As you picture yourself swinging the bat in perfect form, make sure that you are already realizing that you are going to hit the ball. Follow through and then start to run for the bases safely. Practicing such events is a good way to make sure that you are truly ready for being the next to bat.

You have to make sure that your elbows are at a ninety degree angle at all times with the rest of your body relaxed and ready to fire from the correct position.
It is important during baseball training to make sure that you are pushing off from the balls of your feet and not from the toes. Players must have a lot of strong ground contact, as tiptoeing is not something that is going to be practical in this sport.
When you are ready to swing, you will want to remember that arm action will begin at the shoulder and not the elbow. Keeping yourself centered and hitting up the middle is the best way to make sure that you are truly prepared for anything that is coming your way.

Practicing The Skills
Whenever you find the time to practice, you should be at the park, at the baseball field, or even in your own back yard. If you are alone then practice with a baseball tee as they have proven to be very beneficial for people.
The best thing that you can do during your practice time is to work on your reaction time. Grab a friend or a team member and grab some colored balls. Have the pitcher throw a ball your way while naming a color.
If the color the pitcher yells out matches the color of the ball then you can swing at it. If the color that the pitcher calls out does not match the actual color of the ball being thrown then you will not swing at it. This will help with your hand eye coordination and your reaction time.
Something that has helped a lot of people is to work on the strike zone recognition in their baseball training. The hitter goes to plate, stands in position, and prepares to swing. The thing is though; the hitter is never going to swing.
Instead, the hitter is going to visually watch the ball with their eyes and as the ball hits the glove of the catcher; the hitter will call out "ball" or "strike". This will help the hitter distinguish between a ball to hit and one that should not be swung at.
