Witches and their Spells

Look familiar - How silly we can dream up anything. Suppose not silly at all, but blessed thatwe are able to do so.

Do they really work? Can we cast spells - More about the Craft. Who knows the truth, Who will Tell?

Basic Witchery

Craft

Rituals, spells and Wiccan Ethics-”The Craft”

About 6 months ago I stumbled across a book written by Dorothy Morrison namely ‘The Craft”, one of many books she has written.

As usual curiosity got the best of me and I just had to know what all these myths or truths entailed. I wanted to be a magical witch with the ability to cast spells.

Obviously I am unable to or my score here would be 100 :-)

“The Craft is fantastic, it explains witchery for what it truly is and rids the myths we grew up hearing in tales but believing they could be true.

Magic; defined as the change of any condition by ritual means - It takes focus, concentration, and tremendous desire. A ß of sorts and then we wait. Nothing happens and then as we wait poof! Our dreams materialize. We don’t know how but can’t argue it did.

In the 1930’s, in England, the late Dr Gerald Brousseau Gardner stumbled upon a liven coven of witches and there learned the true meaning of witchcraft.

He learned these people were not as we thought but witches were a benign people closely attuned to nature, whose first and only commandment was to harm no one. Witchcraft and to show that it is o more than the continuation of an old Pagan religion.

To reach for the moon and grab what you can from it. Walking their talk and reaching for their dreams, They learned they could change their own reality.

I like how she Addresses the Acquisitions Dream Team; “whose knack for slaying dragons and waving off problems with the flick of a wand is simply beyond compare. Whose gentle magic always makes me look good in print, and whose level of patience and understanding never fail to amaze me. Who carefully sprinkle each with their own special enchantments. Lastly, for believing knowledge and information-no matter how contrivercial-is too important to go unshared, and for continually inspiring me to reach for life has to offer and grab it.”

There is so much information I will try to overview the interesting points that maybe you too did not know. Witchcraft is a serious religion for people of all ages , a religion with belief in worship of deities, a religion closely aligned with nature. Any magic is secondary to that of worship and is only performed when there is a real need for it.

From Dorothy’s Book of Shadows she has shared the most fabulous poetry/witchery writings that capture her thoughts and prayers beautifully.

Rede of the Wicca

Memorize these and it shall serve you well.

-Bide the Wiccan Law you must, in perfect love and perfect trust.

-Live and let live; fairly take and fairly give.

-Cast the circle thrice about, to keep all evil spirits out.

-To bind the spell every time, let the spell be spoke in rhyme.

-Soft of eye and light of touch, , speak and listen much.

-Deosil go by waxing moon, sing and dance the Witches ruin.

-Heed the northlands' mighty gale, lock the door and drop the sail.

-When the wind comes from the south, love will kiss the on the mouth.

-When the West wind blow’s o’er thee, departed spirits restless be.

I will be writing a part 2 to the Craft and will explain further in deal it’s truths and more myths. It’s our call to believe or pretend. That's the fun of it all. Respectfully.

I will leave you with a spell next time I think you will realy enjoy.

Until then, let’s think of a spell ourselves- A spell that is desiring for Hubs to rate us all at 100 - :-)

Thanks Hubs.

Good night and sleep tight.

Hi, thought I'd stop by and say hello. I have been a pagan for most of my life, and it is fascinating. The best spells are the ones you cast yourself. as long as you cleanse with salt the instruments that you use first, then write it down or memorize it. Whatever you read, will be good but the power comes from you and not the instruments that you use. I will keep reading, because none of us knows everything, and I am still learning. Thanks Nell
