Batman 3 Can Anyone Replace Heath Ledger?
66Ever since the tragic death of Heath Ledger people have been wondering who if anyone will attempt to play the role of The Joker. Now in my opinion Heath Ledger was the bright spot of The Dark Knight, he made the entire movie because when he wasn't on camera the movie was usually boring and almost unwatchable especially since Christian Bale talks like he has something lodged in his throat. Whoever the villains are in Batman 3 they are going to have to make the movie like Ledger did. The first person that came to my mind when I was thinking about who should replace Ledger is somebody a lot of people probably thought could take over the roles seamlessly.
Johnny Depp would make an excellent Joker however rumor has it that he is going to be in Batman 3 but will most likely be cast as The Riddler. I honestly think they should screw with everybodys mind and cast Depp as The Mad Hatter since he is playing the actual Mad Hatter in the new Alice In Wonderland and looks quite creepy I must say. So why not have him play the guy obsessed with the mad hatter? Now for this next one I'm probably going to get flamed and trolled beyond recognition but my opinion is my opinion, just hear me out before ripping me a new one ok?
Yes Jim Carrey played The Riddler and wasn't that great to me but that was quite a few years ago. Just look at the above picture, you can't imagine him with The Joker paint on? As far as acting the part, I just have this gut feeling that if given the role he would take it seriously considering the circumstances and surprise a lot of people. Would he be better than Ledger? Probably not but those are some pretty big shoes to fill for anybody, I honestly think Jim Carrey could pull of a good solid performance in the role. And for the record I didn't think The Number 23 was that bad and I'm not alone (Review).
Bradd Pitt can play just about any role out there and pull it off but I believe its his role in Fight Club that make people think he can make a very good Joker.
Another one of those things that could really screw with the minds of moviegoers, the former batman returns to play the Joker. Whether its comedy or drama, Michael Keaton always seems to amaze me when hes on the screen and I honestly can't remember the last time I've seen him in a horrible movie.
After the death of Brandon Lee it was thought that nobody could or should reprise the role of The Crow and that was reinforced by The Crow City Of Angels, enter Eric Mabius. While The Crow Salvation didn't get the best reviews, the critics were usually impressed with Mabiu's role but critical of the script and his supporting actors. So Mabius has already stepped into a role for an actor whose life was cut short after an amazing performance and delivered a solid performance of his own. Now I included Edward Furlong with Mabius because I've seen Furlong's name thrown around several times. I haven't seen the Crow 4 (Wicked Prayer) and didn't even know it existed until doing research for this hub so I don't know how well his acting job was. I've heard good things and I've heard bad things. As of right now, those are the only people I can think of that could take a shot at The Joker character.I agree Ledger was amazing as Joker but
before he played this role everybody thought that nobody could possibly be as good as Jack Nicholson. If somebody does eventually get a chance to replace Ledger, give them a chance because you may be pleasantly surprised.

THe only one i could picture as looking closest to the face of the joker WITH the make-up on is Johnny Depp. Eric Mabius doesn't make any sense to me, hard to picture the guy rom ugly-betty as acting as the joker, he doesn't even look like him.
