Lack of Sleep and Stress Leads to Belly Fat

Do you find that your clothes are getting smaller? Are you ready to buy some new clothes and when you try them on something is getting in the way? Most people suffer from this extra bulge around your middle called belly fat. Having that addition padding around the midsection can be extremely frustrating.

To have that flat waistline beneath the clothes you always wanted can be very difficult when you have belly fat. Even getting into your best swimsuit can be a chore. No matter what sex you are, whether a man or woman, buying cloths can be quite challenging when you have belly fat.

It can be rather disconcerting that you have a bulge around your middle that makes you embarrassed. You don’t, however, have to make this a permanent feature of yourself. Making some simple changes to your lifestyle will help you to trim your tummy and get rid of that belly fat that you are now trying to conceal.

The sources for belly fat may be more different than what you would think. Take for example, lack of sleep, or maybe too much stress at work or in your life. Even though fat and excess calories contribute to excess belly fat, stress caused by a busy life helps to send fat to your waistline.

Lack of sleep and too much stress causes the stress hormone cortisol to begin to occur at higher levels. As the cortisol levels rise, fat cells in your abdomen become the first to be filled. Reducing stress and getting that well deserved sleep results in the cortisol to return to more normal levels.

So just maybe your belly fat in not caused by eating all those doughnuts. But if want to keep a healthy weight and decrease your belly fat, it helps that you keep active and maintain a healthy diet. Even though you won’t immediately take off belly fat, over time it will decrease as you shed those pounds.

Being frustrated and feeling badly about yourself is a direct result of having belly fat, but this should not be something you have to battle forever. If you reduce your stress and take care of your body the effect will be a decrease in your waistline. God gave you one body and you have to give it what it needs and take good care of it. Take control of your life and you will lose that belly fat.

If you are getting less than 8 Hours sleep each night then you are probably not getting enough sleep and that combined with stress will result in gaining those extra inches around the waist. Remember a healthy lifestyle includes plenty of sleep and very little stress.
