Be an Angel day is a non-profit and a non –denominational day celebrated on August 22 every year. When we talk of angels, we immediately think of beings with wings flying into our lives with Gods blessings. The main word that describes the angels is “SERVICE” thus the objective of this day is to be like an angel and perform divinely inspired acts of service for others. We are encouraged to be Gods servant in doing good things to others. This is a perfect day to deliver to others messages of hope, love, peace, and even faith .Let’s join the angels to serve God Almighty.

This special day has strong religious roots. Jayne Howard Feldman, the creator of this day says she was inspired by angels to create this day in order that human beings would “Act like angels” by doing one small act of service for someone at least for one day .It does not matter the act of kindness or service you offer .
Be an angel day was first celebrated on August 22, 1993.The date 22^nd was chosen because 22 is recognized as a master number in the study of the sacredness of numbers. Within the vibration of the number 22 is Gods message encouraging us to be Gods master Architects. As architects we are building a bridge between the kingdom of the angels and humans. A bridge between heaven and earth .The month of August was chosen as it is the 8^th month among 12 months. Eight has a numerical vibration of achievement, accomplishment and fulfillment. Together with the Angels we are working towards fulfillment of Gods divine place for each other and for our own lives. We are earth angels serving with the heavenly angels to fulfill God’s will.

This day can be celebrated on an individual basis by performing a small act of service or celebrated with a group activity such as organizing a joyous angel party with a group meditation where participants invite the angels to inspire them with ways to be of service  to their community

Your activities as an angel can take any form be it physical, emotional or spiritual. some suggestions include community outreach program, visiting someone in the hospital or in a nursing home, helping someone struggling with a heavy bag, volunteering for an organization that gives out food boxes to the hungry, picking up trash at a park or on a street, holding the door open for whoever you see approaching an entrance, giving someone a ride to work or to the store, helping a young mother by babysitting for an hour while she does errands, you could send a donation to an organization building homes for the poor, an orphanage or feeding the poor, offering kind word when circumstances call for it. Be an angel to an elderly or handicapped person by helping him or her cross the street etc. Be an Angel day is both for the giver and the receiver. If you are at the receiving end of an angel’s service, express openly your gratitude to those special people in your life. When it comes to your needs and happiness, find these human angels and thank them.
