We love our mommies, don't we? Now, how can we make them feel special on their special day? Here's a few ideas to put the "happy" in "Happy Mother's Day"! See below for ideas for the wallet-conscious.

Champagne Brunch: A U.S. staple for Mother's Day's celebrations. Check your local restaurants and country clubs.

High Tea: High Tea is a really like a meal with tea. It's in the late afternoon and considered an early evening meal (like a light supper). Check tea rooms and hotels for offerings.

Arboretum: Arboretums are large lots with a variety of plant life. Usually, the plants are grown for study (scientific and educational) purposes. However, there are garden societies that will have gardens just to be enjoyed. Check your local colleges, universities, and garden clubs to find one near you. Flowers are usually in bloom around Mother's Day and can be quite enjoyable.

Musical or Play: An afternoon matinee at the theatre might just be what she's looking for. Just be sure to pick something your mom's into and not just what you'd like to see.

Spa Treatment(s): Take her to get a manicure, pedicure, massage, facial, hair cut, or all of the above.

Zoo: For the animal lover, the zoo might be a perfect option for spending time with mom.

Boat Cruise: If you're fortunate to live near a harbor, you might be able to find brunch cruises. Otherwise, just a nice day tour around the nearest lake would be nice.

Shopping: Treat your mom to a brand new outfit, head to toe.

Quick Getaway: Send her to a nice bed & breakfast or spa hotel for a nice weekend getaway.

Fundraiser Fashion Show: There always seems to be a charitable fashion show around Mother's Day. These can be fun and also help a good cause.

Tight Budget? Short on mula? Don't worry, you can still show your mom how much you care and a good time. Here are some ideas for the wallet-conscious.

You be the Chef: You might not be the next Top Chef, but cooking dinner for your mom might be more meaningful to her than going to a high-priced restaurant. You could even get creative with a theme (Mexican fiesta, Pacific Rim Asian flavor, British Tea, you name it!). If you live with your mom, then why not make her breakfast in bed?!

Clean her House: After all the years she's cleaned up after you, wouldn't it be nice if you picked after her for a change? Make the bathrooms and kitchen sparkle, vacuum, dust, all of it!

Go on Walk: Depending on your mom's fitness level, it might be nice to take stroll around a local nature preserve, lake, or even your neighborhood. The time she can spend with you just talking is invaluable.
