Be Thankful
37It's common for just once a year
To think of giving thanks.
But what of all the days between?
Are we just drawing blanks?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There's so much to be thankful for
In every word and deed.
Our life's filled with interaction
That gives us so much that we need.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Right Now! Let's pause to stop and think
Of all the things we should
Be thankful for each and every day
From Loved Ones we wish still could.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Each day we rise to spend our day
With one thing or another.
And take for granted those things we learned
From a Parent, Sister, Child, or Brother.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Instead of living in regret
With things not said or done
To those who've passed away to
The eternal reward they've won.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
From this day forward live your life
In others your love should pour
Earn the right to be acknowledged
As one someone is thankful for.
