50
These days just about anyone can (and does) have a website. Usually, though, it's just a MySpace page, Facebook profile, or a blog on Xanga.
Some people, though, want something more - maybe you're passionate about a hobby or subject, or you dream of owning your own business. If that's you, then you need more than just a page on Blogspot. You need to be your own Webmaster.
Being a webmaster entails more than just blogging - you need connections, advertising, organization, tools, and devotion. You have to being willing to invest time (and probably a little money) into your dream.
Fortunately, there are some resources (free resources, I might add) that can help you get started. One of the best is Webmaster-Talk. Webmaster-Talk is mainly a forum for, you guessed it, webmasters. But it's also a blog, a marketplace, a toolshop, and a community. There's a lot of information and useful tools there that can help you. Whether you haven't even started yet, or you're already off the ground, check out what you can learn from some seasoned webmasters.
