Man vs. Wild is my favorite catch on television on Discovery channel, full of adventure and one hour full packed entertainment.

Bear Grylls is a seasoned adventurer who has served with the Special Air Service, a Special Forces unit of the British army, where he was trained as a survival expert. He knows many techniques and can survive in the wildest environment with his techniques.

His experiences include climbing the all mighty Mount Everest, crossing the freezing North Atlantic Ocean in a small, open boat and climbing a Himalayan peak which is described by Sir Edmund Hillary as 'unclimbable'. He has been to such places and has done unusual thing that would easily defeat a normal person. In each and every episode of Man vs. Wild the host Bear Grylls strands himself in the most popular wildest destinations where tourists often find themselves lost and lose their life without knowing the techniques of the nature to survive.

He has eaten most of the species except humans, showing us how to save our life or how to survive when we are stranded in middle of forest, deserts and mountains.

According to Bear Grylls:

The Top Ten Household Items That Could Save Your Life in the Wild!

10. Make-up mirror: Reflects the sun, signaling to airplanes which is the perfect way to attract the airplanes.

9. Credit card: Can be used to cut many things or, if it includes a reflective hologram, can signal for help.

8. Bra: Serves as the water filter.

7. Lipstick: Can be used to write SOS on the top of your car or neighboring rocks for getting help. It can be also used to mark the trees or roaks for remembering the way or route without getting lost of confused.

6. Tampon: Serves as tinder once broken up into fuzz.

5. Shoelace: Binds sticks and other items together to create shelter, can also be used to climb the trees by tieing both the legs together.

4. Sock: Can also filter water and can be used as gloves.

3. Wristwatch: Determine direction by pointing the hour hand at the sun and form an imaginary line through the center of the "wedge" created between the hour hand and 12 o'clock -- that is your north-south line.

2. Paper clip: When magnetized, makes a makeshift compass.

1. Battery: Can be used to cross with wire to generate a spark in order to start a fire, which is very important aspect to survive anywhere.
