Beatles has finally signed a $400 million agreement with Apple’s iTunes and will distribute the entire Beatles catalog in iTunes. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and families of late Beatles stars Harrison and Lennon will share the profits.

Apple has been trying to close this deal with Beatles for a long time; finally Paul McCartney officially allowed iTunes to distribute the Beatles Catalog. The profits will be shared other band mates and their families along with Michael Jackson (who owns some Beatles recordings), EMI and Sony recording groups.

Paul McCartney is currently involved in a bitter divorce with Heather Mills, with this agreement, her settlement demands might increase as well.

I checked iTunes; they don’t have the catalog yet, only remixes and some songs from Beatles collection.

I hope the Beatles and iTunes release the songs on a DRM free format.

I think iTunes will be very happy, Paul McCartney will be happy, hope Heather doesn't take too much off of him

Great to see that good music and vids etc. will continue in the ITunes setting too. Also you'd think that Paul has smart enough lawyer to make sure that all "after" dealings will not benefit the gold digger.

Great HUB regards Zsuzsy

Thanks Zsuzsy, it is great the musicians are rewarded instead of the labels. I agree Paul is going through a bad divorce, I hope Heather just ends it quickly. She had said at the beginning she is not interested in the money but now it looks very different.
